I haven't been here in probably 20 years. We came for restaurant week because it was close to home and loved it! We will definitely be back!!
The food was very good and staff was friendly. The location is not prime, but there was convenient parking. The atmosphere is cozy, but could use some sprucing up and attention to detail (crooked paintings etc) The servers could have been briefed better about the menu for restaurant week (we went for brunch but we're given the dinner menu in error) and when I asked about the soup of the day I noticed that what our server mentioned was not the same soup I'd heard other servers tell their tables. Tried for restaurant week but on the fence about returning.
We have been here before, and chose selections from the Restaurant Week menu. The menu presented a wide variety of dishes, and all of our selections were perfect! The escargot with puff pastry caps was very tasty, and my wife enjoyed the rack of lamb, cooked to perfection. Service was most excellent, and the four of us had a perfect evening!
Brought out one persons food and had to ask for other persons. Wait staff was so busy they didn't have time to listen when we were ordering. Made for not the best experience. The food was awesome!
What a gem! Three-course meals are the best value in the region. Excellent all around. My friend loved his omelet and my bouillabaisse met every high expectation. Pavlova was decadent. Just a perfect spot to met the winter blahs.
Friendly reception, genial service. Authentic French menu, quantity of servings generous, perhaps overly so. Quality of presentation and preparation middling.-
La Côte d'Or is one of our favorite places for a lovely dinner. The trout almondine is so delicious that I can never convince myself to try a different entree. And their chocolate mousse is heavenly! Lovely dining room, excellent service - including delicious bread brought to start.
We had a table of 10 for NYE. The service was very good but some of our dishes were cold, even frozen. Clearly they were prepared ahead of time to handle the rush but we were disappointed that more care wasn't taken on presentation.
We had another delicious meal at La Cote d'Or on Friday evening. Fall and winter are our favorite time of year at La Cote d'Or because they put our cold weather favorite, cassoulet, back on the menu. If anything, the cassoulet was even better on Friday night than it was last year. It was excellent. Since it is so filling, we split an order of deviled eggs with smoked salmon as an appetizer. Always a good choice although our favorite appetizer there is the escargot.
Went to brunch and had I had a $30 and husband had a $45 set menu. Food was good, the bread excellent and service slow but good. On their website it says that they have $9 mimosas and Bellinis at brunch. I ordered a Bellini and it was not an authentic Bellini that has peach purée. I asked the waiter and he said it had some peach schnapps in it. He should have told me that upfront since I would have never ordered it. That is the reason I'm giving them 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5.

La Côte D'Or Café is a great spot for a relaxed meal with really good French food. The dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, the portions are just right, and the atmosphere is cozy without feeling too formal. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. Definitely a place I’d come back to for a nice, easy dinner.

By far the best French restaurant in the DC/No.VA area. Every menu item I've tried has been wonderful. Staff is attentive without being obtrusive. The atmosphere is pleasant. Parking can be difficult at peak times, but that's the ONLY drawback to this excellent and charming eatery.

Arrive between 5 and 6:15pm to have the $35 fixed price, 3 course, option.
My husband and I had soup of the day, tasty vegetable soup, creatively different from most. Butternut squash, red peppers, maybe carrots and onions with a thyme flavor.
We also each had a good lamb stew with a variety of vegetables and potatoes.
I enjoyed dessert of bread pudding with bits of peach, walnuts and cinnamon. Last taste of summer, starting into autumn.
