Main Event Caterers

We hired Main Event Catering for our wedding after being blown away by how delicious the food tasted, and how great Ali was throughout the sales process. Things went downhill after we had our executed contract. Our wedding was handed to Jessa as the event coordinator and her work was not impressive. She was disorganized, which led to communication challenges leading up to the event. We had to thoroughly scrub her emails, as they would consistently include incorrect details and prices. We also had a call with her in which she frequently mixed up details from another wedding with the details of our own. On the day of our wedding, the staff displayed wine bottles on the bar that we asked multiple times ahead of the event not to display. We and our coordinator then had to ask multiple times for them to remove the wine from the display bar. They also failed to provide the "Her's" drink that we agreed to in the contract. We provided the alcohol and they were supposed to provide everything else. To our surprise, when we requested the Her's drink, one of the waiters went into a lengthy explanation with the groom about what the requested Her's drink was versus what they decided to serve instead, trying to tell the groom that he did not understand what the Her's drink was. Our wedding took place in August, and the team decided to put our doughnut wall against a hot window instead of the interior wall that was designated and agreed upon, so all of the icing quickly melted off the doughnuts, which created a huge mess and quite frankly, a waste of $800. To top it all off, we found out from the catering staff that Jessa left approximately 3 hours before she was supposed to, which led to chaos at the end of the evening. Multiple guests told us that they saw the wait staff pouring out our open bottles of wine and liquor that we spent thousands of dollars on. Including a wine that our venue no longer sold. The staff also did not package the food appropriately per the discussions ahead of the event that we had with Jessa since she was not there to relay those instructions. Overall, the food was tasty, but the lack of administrative oversight leading to the numerous execution failures was not worth the cost per person of $181.25.

Allison and her team at Main Event ran an incredible show for us at our Georgetown wedding. We were blown away at the tasting for our menu, and Allison added some options for us that really stepped things up. We were also given an incredible referral for a Wedding Coordinator who worked side by side with Main Event to run everything on the day. Guests raved about the service, food, drinks, and deserts. We cannot thank Allison & Main Event enough for their work.

Exceptional attention to detail-very attentive! They did a wonderful job catering our wedding event! Highly recommend! Yes-the food tasts as amazing as it looks! Ali C works very hard to orchastrate the entire culinary experience from food choices to line to dessert! Hats off to teamwork!

My husband and I hired Main Event for our wedding (05/24/2024), and we were extremely pleased with the quality of their service. We compared caterers leading up to the wedding, and Main Event, while a little more expensive than the rest, stood out. They promised us that their worth came through when it came to their service, and they were 100% accurate. On top of that, the food was exceptional. To this day, it is the best food I have had at any wedding. Additionally, the bartenders did an excellent job. Main Event Caterers is by far the best caterer in the DMV! My wife (Kayla) and I worked with Main Event for our wedding on August 16, 2024. At first, my wife and I had a hard time finding the RIGHT caterer. Then, we stumbled upon Main Event and never looked back! Ali and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure we would have the best wedding experience possible. What we loved about Main Event was the communication, the food/service, and the attention to detail. Thank you Main Event for making our special day one to remember. We had a great experience working with Ali and the Main Event team for our June wedding. We signed our contract with Main Event about 16 months out from our wedding and what that meant was LOTS of time for questions, changing our mind on things, and adding items and details. Ali was super accommodating with everything - often responding in under an hour. From a logistics standpoint, they worked seamlessly with other vendors (rentals, venue, coordinators, etc.) and made sure the whole event ran smoothly and timely. Our guests have complimented lots of things - the delicious food, the quality of the signature drinks, the impressive raw bar, and how quickly they were able to get drinks at the bar. Main Event are experts and know what they are doing to make sure your event goes perfectly. You will not be disappointed using them for your big day!! Thank you!!

We worked with Main Event for our wedding in May of 2024 and they helped make our day an unforgettable experience! Ali was very helpful from the start of the process and was always in touch with us ensuring we would have the best wedding experience possible. We were even able to book our table and chair rentals through Main Event which made for a seamless experience. During the wedding, the entire team was very accommodating and even moved our cocktail bar from outside to inside in the middle of the event due to rain. Our guests raved that the food was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and we have to agree. Main Event especially knocked it out of the park when it came to our delicious wedding cake. Thank you Main Event for giving us the wedding of our dreams! We highly recommend anybody looking for a caterer to use Main Event, as we will be referring friends and family in the future.

Main Event was great to work with from start to finish. The goal of a good caterer should be to remove stress from the organizer/host and they did this to perfection. We were always confident they would deliver an exceptional service and they did not disappoint.

We recently used Main Event Caterers for our May 11th wedding of 115 guests and can not recommend them enough. From the moment we inquired with Main Event Caterers they were incredible. The team is so communicative and on top of everything. We had done 2 other tastings prior and found everything to be mediocre. From the reserved parking sign for us to the drinks prepared upon arrival and excellent service and food throughout the tasting, our tasting was by far the best we had and it was clear Main Event was notch above the other options. Truly all the food we tried was incredible and not just "wedding food". Ali and Hasnaa were so wonderful to work with and didn't hesitate to make any adjustments as we requested. Hasnaa also brought me to the showroom and was so helpful when deciding on the linens and napkins for the tables. Our guests raved about the food and all the servers were so lovely and did an excellent job at keeping drinks filled. All in all, the whole team was so professional, transparent and kind from start to finish and we are so grateful to have worked with them!

I cannot say enough good things about Main Event from the first day we met Melissa our event designer to the day of my daughter’s wedding. Melissa was there for us throughout the planning offering needed advice and promptly answering numerous emails. She made everything happen making my daughter’s dream of a perfect wedding come true despite the rain! From the set up of the venue to the last minute changes we imposed on her and her team. She was there for us and made it all happen with a smile on her face and always said yeah let’s do it bec she knew how important this day was for the bride and groom, who does that!! Everyone was talking about the amazing the food and staff! We would not have changed a thing. We would use them again in a heartbeat. They truly promised a memorable day and they delivered. I can say without hesitation, if you don’t use this caterer you are really missing out on a perfect day!

We used Main Event for our 60 person wedding and really enjoyed them! The food was delicious and tasted just like it did during our tasting. They were very willing to be creative with us in designing our menu, and offered advice but also happily took suggestions. We thought the serving staff was also phenomenal (shout-out to JC who always made sure that myself and the groom were well fed and always had a drink in hand). My only negative feedback was there was some miscommunication with our planner. Many things had to be repeated and I wasn't always sure if my requests were being heard.

The food and catering was the most important vendor to us for our wedding and we were having a really hard time deciding and sifting through reviews. I hope everyone reading this takes this review to heart because I remember how hard it was to know whether to trust the reviews or not. If you want the best food for your wedding then main event is 100% who to go with. We were blown away at the tasting but thought the food the day of would surely not be as good as the tasting meal for 2 once made for 120 people. Nope, the food made for our wedding for all these people was just as good as the day of the tasting, and every person who went is still raving about it. They were absolutely lovely through the whole planning process as well. We are so thankful we went with Main Event!

Main events catered my husband and I’s wedding.The food was delicious! Main Events worked with our vision of creative appetizers with traditional main courses. We have received so many complements in the food.The day of staff was also amazing! We loved that they assigned a butler to us day of to take care of our needs. She followed us throughout the day, making sure we had drinks and stayed warm.The one complaint we have is our event designed. The first designer we had, Ali, was exceptional and a large reason we selected main events. However, a month out we were reassigned to Hasnaa. Hasnaa attended our walk through but seemingly did not pay attention as evidenced by the floor plans we received that did not remotely resemble what was discussed (thought we wanted the ceremony among ongoing construction). This lend to a protracted discussion which resulted in us not having a rain plan until less than one week before the wedding. She added so much unnecessary stress at the end.Overall, we highly recommend main events, but caution anyone to ensure their event designer is on the same page.

You know it's a good sign when guests tell you how good the food was at a wedding - MEC were the right choice! Melissa was easy to work with, helpful and communicative throughout the months leading up to our wedding. The pricing was competitive, and they had so many options on their menu so we were able to tailor the vision for our wedding. They executed the family style service so well, and the staff onsite were on top of everything. They work with an equipment vendor too that made the rental experience just as smooth. Go with them for your next event!

I was very happy with Main Event for our wedding! The food was delicious, and many guests told us they loved the food. The service on the day was seamless, and we didn't have to worry about anything. My husband and I had a main point of contact on the day who ensured we had food and drinks at all times, and made sure we knew important things like how to cut the cake properly for photos.A few things to note that we wish went smoother. We worked with an initial point of contact leading up to finalizing the menu and tasting, worked with another person in the month leading up to the wedding (floorplans, final decisions), then neither of those two people were at the wedding day itself. I believe this led to a few requests being missed. For example, we requested cream cheese frosting on our red velvet cutting cake, but it was just normal buttercream which was disappointing. Communication via email was difficult at times, and we occasionally had to reiterate a single request a couple of times before it was acknowledged. I also wish we had been able to take home the leftover desserts (we got cupcakes and macarons), which we had been told would be boxed up for us, but in the chaos of the end of the night, we only got our cutting cake boxed up.All in all, we were very happy with MEC and would recommend it for your wedding!
