The food was very tasty (not as spicy as I’d prefer) but flavourful nevertheless. The portion sizes are very generous. A curry comes with rice which was a nice surprise.

Highest recommendation! I stopped by for a quick lunch with my son and I am so glad I did. We ordered takeout online, but decided once we arrived to eat there at one of their few small tables. DJ could not have been more hospitable. We ordered a chicken tikka masala and a butter chicken. Both were hot, fresh, flavorful and delicious. We also ordered a roti and tandoori naan, which were also excellent. A lot of places skimp on the rice, but not this place. Our meals included a more than generous heaping container of hot basmati rice that perfectly complemented the equally generously sized chicken dishes. My only regret is that I did not discover this place sooner. We loved everything about it and can't wait to return.
Got carryout for a family celebration (14 people). Everything was ready for pickup ar the reserved time. Well-packaged. Hot. Delicious. We’re repeat customers and will return.

Masala Express in Arlington is a must-visit for Indian food lovers. The butter chicken is rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, especially with their fresh naan. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the parking lot makes it very convenient. A solid go-to spot in Arlington!

I have truly no idea why the reviews of this place aren't higher. I have been so disappointed by the indian food in Arlington and DC having grown up in the suburbs and can say for certain this spot is the best indian takeout in Arlington. While it may not have the upscaled refinement of other places, it's the best flavor of any spot and feels the most like home cooking. I love that the dishes actually highlight the ingredients and spices that each dish is supposed to star vs what so many indian restaurants do with dousing everything in cream. At this point I've tried the Goat Biryani, Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Baingan Bhartha and Lamb Rogan Josh and enjoyed all of them. Food also shows up well packaged and hot in delivery. Definitely my go to indian takeout spot from now on in Arlington
