Well, my experience at the 29 diner on Lee Highway in Virginia The manager is extremely rude. His name is Nick. We came in a group of people. He walked over to our table and started to yell at the whole table. He said he won’t take us anymore because we was a big group and we was ordering our food very unprofessional, so how should we rate the food 👎🏽 after the manager has yelled at us nobody was in the mood to eat anymore. Because of the way that he acted and this is not the first time he has done this weekend or two weeks ago, and he raised his voice at us again, and started to talk about how much weight he lost that we shouldn’t be eating cheese and bread. Sounds weird, but he has a chip on his shoulder thanks Nick for destroying our dinner with our friends and also our grandchildren was with us. So if you don’t like your job, don’t yell at people when they come to have dinner with their family. Specially, we just got out of church. Wow, pretty bad neck. 2/15/26 9:27pm

Classic Diner from the architecture to the interior ambiance. We were there at 6am when it opened. The service was friendly/family-like and our breakfast choices were excellent.

Poisonous. How one can stomach eating anything while watching Fox News is beyond me. That’s what Metro 29 Diner chooses to show. I tried them 5 years ago and they had it on and just tried again this morning and - still there - I had to walk in and out. Disgusting that a restaurant in the DC area would air a network that excused the violent beating of our local capitol police officers 5 years ago and today celebrates the intimidation of our neighbors who have legal status here.

Another really disappointing diner experience in the DMV.
My wife and I first ate at this diner many years ago. This time, we did not particularly enjoy our meal. Wasn't terrible, but wasn't that good. Definitely not worth the price with Trump-flation.
The service was okay, but the atmosphere was really off. We didn't feel comfortable here and we were unable to get the on duty manager to come to our table. Neither of us felt welcome here. We rushed our dinner just so we could be out of this unpleasant environment.
When we first ate here years ago, we had really enjoyed ourselves. This time was actually pretty awful. Things have really gone downhill here since we last ate here about 10 years ago. Desperately need new management.
We don't plan to ever give them another penny of our money.

I go here frequently. The service was so terrible yesterday, never got a side i asked for and asked 3 times!!! Not too mention its always overpriced. If you're looking for baked foods just go to a local bakery. There's 3 within 2 minutes.

Big menu, great food. The menu is huge. There is something for everyone. Parking can be difficult on weekends but you can park to the shopping center right next to it.

We had breakfast here in September 2025. Good service and quality. We have 1 omelet, 1 pancakes and 2 juices for $50, tip included
The food is always good. It's a little expensive, but portions are generous.
I'd like it more if they weren't so stubborn about Fox channel. Hard to eat breakfast while TV promotes division and blames half the population.
