Honestly Peter Chang does certain things very well like their Mongolian chicken or beef or their fried rice. General Tso’s and Sesame Chicken could really be improved. For some reason they use white meat chicken which dries out quickly and the sauce they use to toss it is really bland. I don’t taste any garlic or ginger, just weird sweetness. I remember it being a lot better in the past. Now it’s like general tsos I would buy at a run down mall.

Overpriced basic Chinese food. The only Asian place that charges you extra for rice with your entree. Absolutely ridiculous! The flavor taste like they are cutting corners and soups are watered down.

Been dining at this location since they opened in March 2015 and I wanted to leave my first review. This is the best Chinese restaurant, and one of the best restaurants in general, in the DMV.
Mr. Chang is from the Hubei province of China and became a master chef of Hubei cuisine, a different style of cuisine than Sichuan, but he learned Sichuan through his experience cooking alongside Sichuan chefs and doing his own research when he still lived in China. To me and many others who are from this area, Peter Chang is an icon and a living legend. Every restaurant he opens is of equal high quality, but I still prefer this location over all the others. If you’re deciding if you want to come try it don’t hesitate, just do.

Favorite items to order:

Grandma noodles
Scallion bubble pancake
Crispy pork belly
Bamboo fish
Fried eggplant

Mongolian beef
golden mountain chicken
Pork ribs
mapotofu
three pepper beef
sichuan chicken
I know it’s basic but the lo mein is the best here.

Just an ok place. The biggest concern is the food. It was just fine, not even good or great. The service was good. The atmosphere is good. It did not worth 100$ we paid for the dinner. Won’t comeback.

Stopped here for lunch not realizing they offer AYCE during these hours for only $32/person. A great way to try multiple dishes. Everything was exceptional! Was overwhelmed by it all and forgot to take pictures of each dish. Will definitely be back.

I would not recommend this Peter Chang's. I had the sesame chicken. It was overpriced, cold and just awful. Service was bad as they aren't even picking up the phone. I will not be back and would not recommend anyone come to this Peter Changs

We went in for lunch. It was not our first visit. We ordered a variety of dishes to share with our family of 8. Every dish was expertly peppers and served. The tapas size plates allowed everyone to try a variety of choices. We even met Chef Chang.

I’m on a mission to try as many Peter Chang restaurants as possible and this most recent trip brings me to their Arlington, VA location. I was in the area and decided to stop in for some carry-out to enjoy for lunch the next day. The restaurant is very nice, clean, and modern. All Peter Chang joints are nicely decorated and kept up nicely, not like the typical “ethnic” restaurant with poor hygiene and care, this one was just as clean and nice as the others I’ve visited. Placing my to-go order was quick and easy with the host. He said it would take about 10 minutes for the food to be prepared, but it really took only 5 and it came out piping hot and packed for the trip home. The food when I heated it up the next day was EXCELLENT!!! So flavorful and tasty! I actually ordered beef lo mien with jalapeños, which tasted great and wasn’t too spicy, but had a nice flavor to it… definitely something I’ll be ordering in the future! I also got their chicken with Szechuan peppers and that was incredibly flavorful!! Overall – Another excellent Peter Chang restaurant that must be visited!

The food was so amazing and spicy (except for the vegetable dumplings) but the eggplant and the grandmas noodles…wow would come again but bring Tums with you

Had AYCE Dim Sum. Great variety of dim sum and small plates, nice combination of spicy food and non-spicy dishes. Good service, quiet for Friday lunch

I ordered HuiGuoRou dozen times. The HuiGuoRou this time was surprisingly tasteless, which is unusual for such a flavorful dish. The rice was also not freshly made at all. Sadly, this meal didn’t meet my expectations. And I can’t say I will go there again.

My first visit to one of Peter Chang's restaurants was a big disappointment. Of the four entrees we tried, only one (a chicken with some sweet red sauce) was tasty. My River Crossing Fish sounded interesting, but somehow it managed to be very bland and a bit spicy at the same time. The service was fast, but except for one busser the servers seemed like automatons. Ours kept rushing away before we could ask a question. She also told us that "everything" could be made gluten free, when on questioning she meant they could just leave soy sauce out of everything (since they didn't offer GF soy sauce anyway, I guess). The decor was warehouse-like - just a big room with tables and small booths.

Wow. So disappointed in how the quality at this location has declined. My understanding is that Chef Peter Chang sold this location, and several others. My family got carry out last night and I was extremely disappointed with the food. I’ve sampled all over the menu, love the chili onion chicken. But I sometimes go back to my siren, Kung Pao Chicken. Peter Chang’s version has always been different, but I liked his rendition. Last night, it was not good. New was chicken filet strips, not chunks. That’s not Kung Pao. Worse was it wasn’t as spicy as ordered, and the sauce was cloyingly sweet in aftertaste. I have loved this spot. Best Chinese around. I’m out. This became cheap, dishonest quality overnight.

It took me 8 years to find a great Chinese restaurant and this is it! I order from here almost weekly now. The best part about the food is you can select the spicy level of many of the dishes, and I love it spicy! I’m talking REAL spicy - not weak American-standard spicy, and they deliver. Fire in my mouth, runny nose, and tears spicy. I love it!
