This place is perfect, right down to the soap in their bathrooms. They always have an amazing, affordable, diverse selection of wines. The food is also incredible. The staff is always friendly, never pretentious, and never fail to give a good suggestion. (Shout out to Gaile, they might be my favorite server of all time.) As a young person, this is an amazing place to get into wine. The owners, Jackie and Philippe, are fantastic and welcoming hosts. I am a bit of a regular and they are truly lovely people. It is a CRIME that its not the most popular spot in Arlington.

Can’t believe we didn’t try this place sooner. Getting a reservation was easy with the resy app. Showed up a little early and fortunately were able to be seated quickly.

All of the service was great, multiple people checking in on us throughout.

We did a pri fix and each time I thought the dish was excellent the next thing that came was even better!

One of did the wine pairing and it was excellent.

Will absolutely return soon!

The food and wine are great but the service is outstanding! The staff obviously take pride in and enjoy their work. They know the menu and wines like sommeliers. This is how every serious restaurant should be.

I am not even done eating here and have to praise this amazing place! Amazingly friendly staff all around, crazy attention to detail and perfect service! Carpacio was unique, but delicious, easier to eat than most traditional carpacios. Brisket was one of the most amazing entrees ever. Perfectly seasoned, tender, full of flavor with amazing sides also done perfectly. The barrolo by the glass was a 2019 and perfectly went with it. The budino looked so good, I ended up taking a bite before a picture. Absolutely amazing blend of delicious chocolate, peanut butter that is not overpowering, and olive oil to round out all the flavors. Honestly one of my best dining experiences of all time. Thank you to the entire staff!

🤔 Has good potential but service needs work
📣 The entire time there was a worker in the middle of the room, clanking silverware and making NOISE - are you serious? Totally brings down the vibe. Do that in the back or after hours.
🙄 Also the server didn’t serve us the refills of our bottle and stuffed the check in our face before we were finished with our wine.

I will preface this by saying I have NEVER written a negative review of a restaurant or any business. I have only written positive reviews ever in my life. But, I felt I had to in this case. I had heard of numerous negative experiences people have had at Pirouette, but when my friend asked me to go for a glass of wine and some apps, I thought I would give it a try again. I will never go back to this establishment. We ordered red wine by the glass that was recommended by our server. I will say we were in the wrong for not confirming the price per glass, but it should also be up to the server to educate her patrons that the glass was $32 each. What was even more upsetting, was that a bottle of the same wine was listed as $84. We said there surely had to be a mistake as most restaurants charge 1/4 of the price of a bottle for a glass as there are around four glasses in each bottle.

So, the owner came over and we took responsibility for not knowing the price, but also said we should have been informed by our server or at least had her recommend that we get a bottle, which was a much better value. When the owner came, he was so incredibly rude and said we are adults and should have known. I indicated that I have worked in the restaurant business and eat out in DC and Arlington weekly. I have NEVER seen a mark-up by the glass like that. A $32 glass should be around $128 bottle. We were charge $160 for five glasses! He said I didn't know what I was talking about and that wasn't the case. We simply asked to pay for a bottle for the four glasses, plus one glass to save at least a little bit of money. He refused. His lack of customer service once again was on full display. Be warned if you go back to eat there, look at every single price. I know that seems naive for me to say that, but as you know when you are conversing with friends, usually the server or sommelier will indicate price points when ordering wine. Plus, this is a local Arlington restaurant.

For two examples, see below to the owner. Zatinya and Saltline charge about 1/4 of the price of a bottle for a glass. These are just two examples. Many times, a glass is actually less than 1/4 of the bottle price. I hope they learn to price their glasses and bottles of wine properly in the future and be more accommodating to customers in the future. One other note is our server was VERY kind and friendly, which made the whole situation even more surprising and unsettling.

Definitely going to be back.

Chef Adam is a pro, and his menu reflects it.

The food was some of the best I have had in DC, the service was precise and warm, and the ambiance so relaxing, and prices were more than reasonable for the quality of the experience.

Easily, one of the best restaurants in the DMV right now.

Splid overall - delicious wine and food, attentive service. However, there was hair in my food, which I removed from the small dish in front of the waiter. I gave it to him, we briefly discussed it, and he took the singilar hair - but then presumably did nothing: no apology from the chef, no replacement dish, no discount on the food, no further acknowledgement at all :/

We ordered 3 small plates, a bottle of wine, and two entrees for two people. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were even larger than I expected! We loved the roasted honeynut squash and the beef tartare. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the service was so welcoming and quick!

This is one of my favorite places in Arlington. The menu changes often, providing fresh options to try. I've had the duck and rabbit dishes for dinner and loved both. I also highly recommend the steak tartare, and definitely save room for dessert—you won't be disappointed!
