On more than one occasion, I've seen the employees loudly engaging in horseplay, chasing each other around the place, and having loud personal conversations. Today a black male employee with dreadlocks and wearing glasses got my order wrong TWICE. I politely asked him to remake the sandwich, and somehow he still got it wrong the second time. After the second time, I didn’t bother to ask him to remake it because he had a nasty attitude. I also believe he overcharged me. Because my small sandwich, small soup & drink costed $19, which I thought was ridiculous. Also, the place is always filthy and smells awful. This Potbelly location at Ballston is a mess. I don't recommend this location and I won’t be returning. Save yourself the headache.

I love Potbelly, but this location is not great. I had an issue a few months ago ordering delivery from this location through the Potbelly app. My order was cancelled by them after over an hour of waiting, and I never received a refund. I called the restaurant multiple times and also submitted a support ticket via their website, but despite telling me that a refund had been issued, I never saw the money go back to my credit card.
More recently, I ordered pickup from this location. I ordered a chicken club sandwich and added avocado, which is a premium topping that costs a couple dollars extra. The actual amount of avocado I received was very disappointing - as can be seen in the image attached to this review, the avocado was barely even visible, and as a result, the flavor of the sandwich was not what I wanted.
I've had positive experiences at the Tysons location, so even though that store is slightly farther away from me, I'll probably be going there from now on.

Have generally had a good experience here, although it can occasionally be a little dirty/messy inside and service can sometimes be a bit unfriendly or slow. All of these things are just sometimes, and service and food is great most of the time! Just depends who is working on any given day!

This is an amazing location! very busy and the staff are very friendly. The food is great. We go there mostly for our lunch break and we love the tuna melt in a foot long baguette bread with pepper jack cheese, hot peppers, and onions etc. you’ll love their menu. And the fast service despite the long lines they get all the time. Thank you guys!

The Potbelly team at this location did an excellent job providing our catering order right down to the smallest detail. Everything was done as ordered including a few specialty orders for diet restrictions. The crowd devoured the sandwiches and commented on how good they were. I would highly recommend this location for your catering needs. They will be our go to for future events!

Could not understand the woman working at the counter. She'd bark options at me and had zero patience. There wasn't even a line behind us. We were the only ones. Bathrooms were shameful. Tables were sticky. The place was a wreck, and staff seemed indifferent.
Love every item and the soups are just as amazing! My go to is chicken club with everything but tomatoes. With a cup of cheddarand broccoli soup.

Don't order.I spent $30 on a what I thought decent(ish) size meal, but the prices for the portions is ridiculous.I also spent $4 on avocados that didn't come with my salad, along with other toppings that I paid for like bacon, that were just not there.Maybe a decent restaurant in person, but don't order unless you want to spend $30 on $5 of food.
