Easily the best crab house in the DC area. Good for eating. Good for anger management. Perfect excuse to pound a table with a mallet.

Still the best place to have steamed crabs this side of the Potomac. We like to start with their beer battered onion rings and fried haddock pieces. Then bring on the crabs. Make sure to ask them to go light on the Old Bay or they will douse them with it.
Prices have gone up bit it is the sign of the times we are living in. Ditch the cocktails, cuz beer, radlers and hard ciders are the best beverages that go with the crabs.

Setting was more informal than I expected for the price but our meal (blue crabs, crab legs, and fries) was verrry good.

Pretty good selection of seafood at prices you would expect. They have a decent bar as well.

I invited three out of town relatives out for jumbo crabs but was told the largest crabs they had were medium sized. We stayed anyway and ordered 1/2 dozen of oysters on a half shell for myself, one dozen medium crabs for the three of us to eat along with sides and drinks. The fourth person ordered an entree. Even though I prefer Jumbo sized crabs, the medium sized crabs were good and meaty, sides and entree were good, but the oysters were too small for my taste. The reason why I didn’t rate my experience a 5 is because I felt disrespected when I received the bill. A $32.+ gratuity was already added to the total. Totaling the bill $216.+. I thought the gratuity is added automatically when you have a party of 6 or more. Now don’t get me wrong, I go out often and always add 20% gratuity no matter what the cost. I felt the waiter chose to make me pay the 20% gratuity because we were Black seniors, as if seniors don’t tip (wrong). Three of us are in our 70’s and one 50’s. Disrespectful. If Quaterdeck’s policy is to automatically add gratuity to parties of 4 or more, then it should have let us know. Bad vibes! May not return.

Out in DC as a speaker for an event. Ended the day by going to Quarter Deck for some much needed blue crabs (Born and raised in the BX but, live in CA). They did not disappoint. Thank you.
