Bad experience i just ordered and they didn't send me all my foods missing one piece serieux Tres mauvaise experience š¢ š
Nice place with a wonderful shady outdoor space. I didnāt try the pastry, being a contrarian, but had an omelet instead. It was served quickly and well prepared. Staff is friendly, the place is modern attractive, and appeared to be very clean.
Hidden gem of Ballston. Pastries are phenomenal and coffee is fair priced. Best part about this spot is the outdoor seated area and amount of shade. Cushioned seats and umbrellas in a beautiful outdoor setting that feels like a small European breakfast spot. Highly recommend any of their danishes and iced coffee is less than $4.
The best spot to take friends, do a little work, or just sit and read a book! Very cozy and warm. And their strawberry custard croissant is SO delicious!
Nice 2:30PM vibe with wood & leather tables/chairs, calm music, good spacing between tables and cool bookshelf. Deli meat in turkey bacon avocado was ordinary/right out of package and a few uninspiring green leaf lettuce hearts but rest of sandwich was good if not remarkable. About $20 for just sandwich chip & drink; guess thatās average around here. convenient walking, esp for Jefferson residents, but otherwise only busy street parking. Had to remind server to bring chips and got my own napkin. Nice place to get quiet work done or have a quiet conversation (I visited 2:30 PM on weekday). Didnāt see any way to recycle the trash.
Great place to relax and unwind. Good coffee!
Great option in the area, decent sandwiches and selection of items
Tried to come in and get a pastry and a coffee, I could not get served and I waited for 15 minutes. They also play the most godawful music that does not fit the vibe.
Iāll come back and change the review after I can actually try their food, my first 1 star review :(
They have flies around all the pastries. Makes it very unappetizing to eat there when you see the food by flies. Also echoing other comments that service has definitely gone down since they opened.
Overall sad because they have a good menu, nice ambiance, and beautiful location. Hope they fix things internally because im switching to Compass for now.
I walked in there to grab a sweet treat and there were flies ALL OVER the baked goods..
Honestly shameful how they would just leave it like that, there were at least 5 flies on one cookie.
So disgusting and a health hazard!

We loved it so much we came back the next day! Great traditional cappuccinos and macchiatos that were fairly priced. I loved the lemon danish as well, which wasnāt cheap but was sizable.
Got an almond croissant ($5.5) from their booth at the Dupont circle Sundayās morning market. Itās cold with very dense texture. donāt feel fresh at all
I love this place. Delicious pastries and the food is awesome. I know itās kind of slow down with the winter and hope itāll pick back up but would recommend if you want a coffee or just a small snack.
The seating area is relatively small and comfortable. The staff were professional and the wait for food was reasonable given the crowd. The drinks (black tea and standard latte) were fine - neither great nor terrible. All three food items were generously sized. The star was the beet salad, with generous proportions of beet, walnut and feta cheese (cubes, not crumbles) along with nicely mixed greens. The turkey-bacon-avocado sandwich was a standard deli-meat sandwich. The smoked salmon omelette was execrable. The salmon had obviously come out of a can; this was NOT deli lox. The consistency of the egg suggests that it was poured out of a container rather than beginning with raw eggs. It was badly overcooked/dry, even by mediocre U.S. standards. I assume all their omelettes are made the same way and will avoid them IF we return. The pastries looked good, but we didn't try them.
Worst brownie I've ever had, and it's not close. Other pastries looked even worse.
