Okay....this was just not a good experience. We had five of us and the bill was $100. Let's start with the food. It was okay. Was it better than McDonald's or Chik-fil-A? Sure. Was it enough better for the price difference? Not at all. Additionally, we ordered a "dairy-free" shake for someone in our party who is lactose intollerant. They thought it tasted really good for "dairy-free". After her body had time to process it, we are certain it was NOT dairy-free because she had a lactose intollerance attack. Now, let's talk about the atmosphere. There is outside seating which was so nice. Yet, once you go out the door, you can't go back in. Instead you have to go back to the front door and try to make your way through the crowded entry. Why is it crowded? That leads me to the service, which was terrible. First, I am ordering at a kiosk that asks me to go find a table and then come back and put in my table number before I finalize my order. There is a long line of people waiting to order. This is not a reasonable request. Oh....and there are NO table numbers. The crowd milling around the door is due to a terribly inefficient service process. They kept texting people that their orders were ready. The sandwiches were, however fries and drinks were not. This means customers are standing all around the door and counter trying to pick up orders that are not complete. Hot food is sitting, getting cold, while the remaining part of the order is still be finished. The employees finishing the sides and drinks are very backed up and can't keep up. We have heard how great The Shake Shack is but our experience was far from great. Maybe it is this location, but we won't need to try another one, anywhere. This is an extremely over-priced, underwhelming, fast food disappointment.

Terrible experience, my wife waiting way too long for our food. Received a text saying “your food was ready and will be brought out shortly” it came 12 minutes later, fries were cold the cheese on them weren’t melted burgers were cold and drinks were watered down.

Helpful, nice staff, great food just fantastic, wow. It is a bit expensive to be honest but it's very good juicy, tender, quality flavorful chicken.

Delicious food there, it took quite a long time to prepare. But the taste of the food makes up for it.

Always friendly. Always on point with service and the food is great.
There are 2 individuals that stand out in the experience. The gentleman that brings the food to you and the young lady that oversees the process.
They make it worth coming back time and again.

Best Shake Shack customer experience in the DC area. Employees and the Manager couldnt figure out how to process a Comp-Card I have and did everything they could with the utmost respect and care. I was still unable to use the comp-card but the manager gave me a discount from the order and I had the best experience with the professionalism displayed from every employee here at Pentagon City.

Loved that they have chocolate plant based shakes here because it’s hard to find those as a vegan in this neighborhood. Everything is usually either dairy based, fruit or vanilla flavored. I love my non dairy chocolate treats!!
Also, the staff are super nice, helpful and efficient! Service is usually pretty fast for me when I visit.
