First time coming here. My GPS guided me to come here when I was really in need of the coffe I like most- Starbux! The unwelcoming attitude of phone-texting busy staff reduced my urgency to sip hot, tasty regular coffee. No greeting, no eye contact, scary voiced conversation...I just paid and waited until I grabbed my co--fee and left the never-to-come-back coffee corner of Pentagon City.
This location already has a 1.7 rating, and after visiting this evening, I completely understand why. There was only one employee running the entire store—handling the register, mobile orders, and in-store drink orders all at once. That’s ridiculous and unfair to the barista.
Yes, my drink was messed up, but I don’t blame him at all. One person should not be expected to do the job of three. When we’re paying $6 for a cup of coffee, quality should be there—but quality is impossible when employees are overworked and understaffed.
This is clearly a management and corporate issue, not an employee issue. Starbucks is charging premium prices while cutting labor, and both customers and workers are paying the price. Corporate needs to do better—staffing stores properly is not optional.

This location has some of the most unfriendly staff I’ve encountered at Starbucks—and that’s saying something lately. Today was my second visit, and both times the experience was equally uncomfortable.
The baristas’ attitude was openly hostile: no eye contact, no greeting, barely speaking, and an overall sense of disdain toward customers. It felt like customers were inconveniencing them simply by ordering—despite paying premium prices for drinks.
If employees dislike interacting with people to this degree, customer service is not the right job. This is especially disappointing for a high-traffic location like Pentagon City.
Management needs to take this seriously. Customers shouldn’t feel embarrassed or unwelcome for walking into a Starbucks.

I’m honestly shocked by the service at this Starbucks today. For some reason there were five employees standing behind the counter, yet the one actually taking orders seemed to be the least competent. I have no idea whether she didn’t hear our “hello” or simply chose not to respond, but loudly and aggressively repeating “hello” at us multiple times is definitely not normal customer service.
When it came time to pay, she of course didn’t give us a bag and didn’t say “thank you” or “goodbye.” Is this level of “service” normal there? Because it was genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Starbucks.
Alert: Watch out they add 20% tip as you make your purchase without telling you or giving you the option.
Rude worker.

The barista behind the counter should make it less obvious that he hates his job

Manager at Macys Starbucks there has the worst customer service friendly. It’s bad because I work in the mall and have to now go to the other one at the food court. My other co worked experience the same attitude. She don’t know how to talk to people and shouldn’t be in customer service ever

This store’s closing time is 8pm. Me and my family, including an infant, came in at 7:30 and got our orders at 07:35pm. Within less than 3 minutes, we got booted out by the female staff, 17 minutes prior to its closing time! We would have let the tasteless mocha and capuccino that tastes like water pass and the dirty facility, but the rudeness of the female staff pushed us to our limit. This store is not even deserving of a 1 star! Subpar quality and subpar service!!

Wrong order, inexperienced baristas. They gave me a grande although I paid for a Venti. On top of that whenever I come there the Impossible sandwich is supposedly out of stock? They repeatedly get my order wrong put dairy milk instead of oat , give me the wrong size drink not follow instructions but still charge me full price. I won’t go to this location again.
Vegetarian options: Impossible sandwich (no cheese) dairy free milk options (soy, almond, oat) although they charge extra.
