The flavors aren't there for me, the presentation & service are just ok... At these prices, I expected something more 🫤

Tacombi - Arlington is a sweet surprise. Tucked perfectly between Whole Foods and the Alamo Drafthouse, this cozy spot delivers big vibes in a quaint, throwback 60s-style diner setting. The décor is cute and nostalgic, and the playlist was smooth and mellow with tracks like Sabre Alley by La Lom, Why Why Why Why Why by Sault, and Honey by Drugdealer. You'll find yourself nodding along while you eat.

I stopped by on Taco Tuesday, which means two-for-one tacos--a deal you simply can't beat. The stars of my visit:

* Paloma - Sparkling, refreshing, lightly sweet, and honestly just pretty in the glass.
* Crunchy Fish Taco - A perfect bite of green crema, red cabbage, and pico. Balanced, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.
* Totopos - The real MVP. These chips let me know I have not been eating real corn chips my whole life. I can only eat guacamole with Totopos now.

I also tried the carne asada and shrimp tacos. They were just okay--not bad, but nothing I would order again. The rice and beans were also very basic, so I'd recommend sticking with the standout items.

The wait staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Side note: City living keeps your peripheral vision sharp like a superhero, so when I noticed a little bird on the ground inside, I definitely jumped--because, ya know! But it didn't take away from the visit.

Tacombi is a small spot for a quick bite before or after a movie or a casual night out in Arlington. Great atmosphere, decent food, and great vibes.

Nice taco spot. Tacos are average size, but they taste great. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I had the Vegana Burrito, which was a very good and decent portion for me. I would definitely recommend for a quick, delicious bite to eat.

Get the spicy margarita and if you get it from Cesare you wont regret it

Cesar makes an incredible spicy margarita. Arguably one of the best in the DMV. A must go.

They were so welcoming! We were given hot soup as we walked in from the cold. The food was so fresh and delicious. 10/10 experience

We came and stayed in Arlington to attend an event in DC. My daughter loved the authentic. Mexican food so much we came back the next day. The first day we ordered carryoout and then the next day we dined in. The service was friendly but not attentive enough to us, for it to be only one other table seated. After sitting a lil while, finished with what I had, I did have to ask for someone to come over to help us, with an additional order, after our waitress got off. They were nice, but you just never know, who can be reviewing you these days. The food, service and atmosphere all gets rated. Not bad enough to keep us from coming back. The Birria tacos were delicious!

Visited this restaurant on 11/3/25. First let me start by saying the food is very bland, and has not one ounce of flavor. We ordered more tacos in hopes of a better experience. WRONG! The fish tacos were the only decent ones on the menu. The server was over the top and kept insisting we try the beer on the happy hour menu - HORRIBLE. The margarita was terrible as well. We told the server that the margarita was not good and tasted like it sat, waiting to be picked up by the server. He just brushed it off.

While eating we noticed all the customers that were seated after us got chips and salsa as soon they sat down. I asked the server were chips and salsa complimentary. He said they were but customers must ask for them. LIE! Not one of those customers who were seated after us asked for chips and salsa. It was brought to their table. Might I add, none of those customers looked like us. The restaurant isn't that large and the tables are fairly close so you can hear everyone. Now what is really interesting. The guy serving us ended his shift sat at the bar with a customer and threw back two or three margaritas. The bartender graciously poured up the tequila for the margaritas for the guy who previously served us. Then his food came out fresh from the kitchen. Yet, our tacos were either cold or luke warm and greasy when brought to the table because the server was MIA. Another server finally brought the food out. Some of the tacos were falling apart when you bit into them because they saturated with grease. In short, seems like our server works at the restaurant for drinks and meals. Nonetheless, I wouldn't eat there again.

This is probably the worst restaurant we’ve been to. Way too expensive for what you get. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving such small portions and the prices they charge. To make it worse, there is literally no flavor to the food. You’re paying a crap load of money for almost NO food that doesn’t even taste good. So many other options near by. Check the reviews on this one before you go.

Great food but our server went MIA before giving us the bill. We saw him leave the restaurant. If you're going to do that at least give us a chance to pay the bill first. It was odd honestly.
