Brunch at Commentary with my date was a fantastic choice! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. I'll definitely be back
Roy and Jose were great hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed my pizza and cocktail making experience.
Quit, great service and staff. The side sald and buffalo wings were good!
My group had an amazing time! Ms. Rita was a jewel and the star of our show! We love our spicy Italian aunt!!!!
Horrible service, waited an hour for a breakfast item. Don’t go!
I attended the pizza and cocktail class on a Saturday. Chef India was great, amazing and funny . We will come back.
I participated in the Pizza & Cocktail class, it was wonderful. Chef Yndia was Great! She taught us to prepare a delicious build your own Pizza. I will definitely being going back.
The Commentary, a pizza and cocktails-making class nestled within the Westin hotel in Arlington, Virginia, offers an unforgettable experience for couples or a unique gathering with friends.
Our experience at The Commentary was nothing short of memorable and incredibly enjoyable. The instructors for both segments were exceptional, their humor adding an extra layer of fun to the learning process.
The highlight of the class was the opportunity to savor the creations we had made. The pizzas and cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the Truffle Fries, crispy and bursting with flavor, left my taste buds dancing. The wings were equally impressive.
The ambiance at The Commentary was simply fantastic. The garage parking provided easy access to the hotel, making it a convenient option for those who prefer to drive.
As a friendly reminder, classes are open to individuals aged 21 and above, and ID verification is mandatory. #pickyeaterapproved #datenightideas #pickyfoodieapproved #arlingtonva #dmv #pizzamaking #cocktails #class

I actually wouldn't know what it's like to dine here from a food standpoint, because we never actually got seated. I made a reservation for 6:30 for happy hour with my friends. Just to be told before I'm seated that there is no happy hour until 7pm, but it clearly says it on their website. The host knew that the website has that time (happy hour until 7 pm) but said that it's wrong (why not fix it then, or honor it until you do?). Either way he still seemed reluctant to seat me because it looked like they had multiple events at a time- a tight packed pizza making class and what looked like a corporate office party as well. If the host would not be comfortable with seating a group of 4 then I shouldn't have been able to make the reservation considering I was in traffic for an hour to get there after work. This was a major inconvenience for me and I was forced to make last minute plans and meet at the bar across the street which had a completely different ambiance than the commentary and was not one in which my friends were comfortable. Needed a quick place to go as we had to walk in the rain from one place to the other. Thank you for absolutely nothing to the staff at the commentary.
The lunch service team was poor. We waited over 15 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted beverages. Then served drinks to the wrong guest and provided sweet tea instead of unsweetened order by 2 of the 5 guest. Food preparation took extra time for a hotel restaurant and was just ok.
Flew in late last night. Thankfully this hotel restaurant was open and had a vegan option - the smash melt. Stopped by this morning to see if there was anything I could have for breakfast and found a tofu grain bowl (w/o the eggs), oatmeal, and açaí bowl. Had the grain bowl subbing more tofu for the eggs. It was delicious and filling. The service last night was subpar (forgot to refill water, didn’t bring silverware, I had to ask to order), however this morning was great! I am pleasantly pleased with the Commentary. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-14
The Commentary is the place to be! An eclectic ambiance, fabulous service and hospitality, and very good food! Loved the selection of seating with lounge areas, high top tables, and movable settings to easily accommodate various groups. The wait staff was amazing!! We will definitely make this our place to go time and time again in the future. BRAVO!!
Overall very good but a bit of a wait for our food even though there were few others in the restaurant. But our server kept us well informed on the timing and we were not in a rush.
