Food takes a ridiculous amount of time to be served. I waited for 45 minutes for soup when I was the only person in the whole restaurant. Don’t recommend if you’re in a rush.

Ordered delivery from here and the burger was cooked to perfection! It was seasoned well and toppings weren’t overbearing. Had a side salad with it and it was the perfect size with a yummy dressing. Highly recommend ordering! Next time I will try dining in!

If you want the best burger in the area you go to the Union because wow. Speechless. Try it, it’ll speak for its self. I got it delivered and it was still banging. Perfect medium rare

The Thai coconut curry shrimp soup was very flavourful. The union Cobb with cod was really good. Cod was seasoned well and so flaky.
Parking: Somewhat difficult to find the parking garage but plenty of spaces. The street parking was packed due to lunch hour.

The Union is one of Ballston's hidden gems. I go regularly, and everything I’ve had is fantastic. Lamb chops, burgers, steak, French fries, ice cream, everything. The lambchops in particular are on par with Morton’s, Elbit’s, or any other DC staple without the once-a-year price tag.Great for a low-key date night. You’ll get fantastic eats at a low-price in an intimate atmosphere. When your belly is full, Quincy and Oakland parks are just down the street for after-dinner handholding. Or walk the other direction for an after-dinner glass of wine at Pirouette or beer and ping-pong at Quincy Hall. If you live in the surrounding apartment towers, an exciting night is even closer. The ordering system is a bit awkward. The menu is on a blackboard above the register, like a burger or BBQ spot, but the cuisine is closer to white cloth fine dining. I am often confused whether everything will come out at all once, or I should pace my orders so that each course comes out in succession. Nonetheless, the wait staff is perfectly friendly and available.Overall, the Union is worth your time. It’s a fantastic spot for great food that won’t break the bank.

I had the NY strip steak and it tasted great! The price was reasonable and the owner very kind and fast to help with whatever I needed.

I was very pleased with my Artisan Greens salad - especially the marcona almonds. You don't find those often in a salad.

Family group of 10 really enjoyed this casual, counter-service restaurant. Food is unexpectedly high quality for a restaurant of this type, and certainly comparable to table-service restaurants. Service at this location was friendly and helpful. Food also came to the table quicker than expected. Overall would recommend for someone looking for quick, quality food!

I had lunch with my mom here and we both ordered the Asian salad with chicken. It was fresh and delicious and the restaurant looked new and very clean. We will definitely be back!

Delicious burgers and fries!!
I've given this establishment two chances and both instances were disappointing and unsatisfying. The first time I walked in the manager was unfriendly towards me as he took my order and the wait for my take out order was filled with awkward silence. The second time, it appeared the restaurant may have been closed (which is not uncommon considering the time of day and location) and upon me asking about it, the manager waved his arms in attempt to make me feel stupid and gave an attitude as I ordered placed a take out order. I requested a beer as I waited and was refused despite me having wine in hand while I was there. Furthermore, I just didn't feel the food was worth the price charged when you consider the quality and quantity served.
I've tried the burgers at 5-6 different places around Arlington. The Union Burger is easily the best, by a significant margin. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and perfectly dressed every time.
Probably the best burger I’ve had in the area.
