Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant- Ashburn

Our overall dining experience was enjoyable, but I was somewhat disappointed with the service. After being seated, we were eager to receive our wine and pretzel bread promptly. Unfortunately, despite placing our order right away, the wine did not arrive for about 15 minutes, and the pretzel bread took nearly 20 minutes—even after we reminded our server. The restaurant was unusually busy for a Monday evening, which may have contributed to the delay. Still, a simple apology or explanation from our server would have gone a long way in making the situation feel more considerate.

The last few times we have gone, we have been disappointed. Last night, they had the first 2 parking rows reserved for Valet. It was empty! We had to park in the back of the parking lot. I've never seen a restaurant do that!

Excellent dinner out at Cooper's Hawk in Ashburn. Shout out to our server Jeff....outstanding service throughout the meal.

Had a great time catching up with friends, nice atmosphere, easy to have a conversation, nice view, and fantastic food!

Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich and roasted Brussel sprouts were both otherworldly

I’ve been coming to Cooper’s Hawk for years and it has always been one of my favorite restaurants. From the food to the wine to the welcoming atmosphere, every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The staff have always been warm and attentive (and my favorite part), but tonight truly stood out and reminded me just how special this place is.

Kris (who was the server at the wine tasting bar), went above and beyond in every possible way. She was incredibly attentive, intuitive, and made me feel genuinely cared for throughout my visit. Her professionalism and compassion created an atmosphere of comfort and safety that I deeply appreciated.

It’s rare to encounter someone who not only delivers exceptional service but also looks out for their guests in such a genuine and thoughtful way. Kris exemplifies the heart of what makes Cooper’s Hawk so special!

Thank you to Kris and the entire Cooper’s Hawk team for continuing to make this feel like home and one of my favorite dining experiences year after year.

UPDATE (4 years later): Food is mediocre at best and carryout is awful (hamburger had a bite out of it - at least that is what it looked like). Service can be anywhere from horrible to mediocre (one waiter took the time to try and sell us his products from a side hustle - he wouldn't leave us alone). Atmosphere is pleasant, but nothing special. ORIGINAL: Food is very good, service is very good and the wine is also good. (I was drunk when I wrote this review).

Food was not what we used to get. My husband had an upset stomach all evening and my Caesar salad came soggy with very little chicken.

Everything was great except for being out of short ribs. The steak I had was good but it wasn't the short ribs

Atmosphere is pleasant. We ordered two appetizers. The server brought one appetizer then the second one about 15 minutes later. The calamari appetizer was tasty. The baked Parmesan shrimp scampi entree was not what I thought it was going to be. It was bland and watery. Other guests in our party of 6 were disappointed in their entrees as well. We have dined at this location about 4 times. I will say that this time it was difficult to say that we enjoyed the food. For the cost of the meal, I might think twice before we dine here again.

Love Cooper's Hawk. Food always good, and wine is great! Enjoyed sitting outside, overlooking the pond. Serene and relaxing. Service was very good.

Had some computer issues so the service was a little slower than normal but server did her best under the circumstances.
