Potomac Taphouse

Would not recommend. Restauarant was dead empty which we shouldve taken as a sign. Food was rancid (checked by multiples at our table), surprise charges on bill, and overall not worth the cost. This was our first bad restaurant experience while visiting NoVA and unfortunately the most costly.

Cons-
-The kids wanted Mac and cheese and it tasted rancid. All us adults tasted it to make sure the kids weren’t being dramatic(they did switch it out thankfully)
-We watch a serve wipe a glass with a towel drop it then continue to clean with it.
-Ordered the crab cakes and I didn’t feel like they were worth the money you got two pretty small ones and for the price I would expect a little more.
-They asked if we wanted soda refills and charged us for a refill without being told.
-20% gratuity for our party of four adults and two kids, which is OK but they should let you know that because they don’t print out your receipt. They just hand you the thing with the total so we had no clue about the 20% until we got our receipt texted to us after we paid which already included the tip we added.
Pros-
-All our steaks were cooked perfectly.
-The server was very kind and attentive
-Plenty of room for a big party
-Lots of food variety

I wanted to give more then 1 star but unfortunately, as a cook myself, serving a child that is never okay.

Amir and the team at Potomac Top House were absolutely wonderful at our grand opening party! He took such great care of all our guests and made sure everyone was comfortable and happy. The service was outstanding, and his warm hospitality really stood out. We are so grateful for his support and highly recommend Potomac Top House for anyone looking for top-notch service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great atmosphere with a savory menu and huge drink menu. They even have Buffalo Trace and the Colonel available! Check it out!

Food is excellent. The burger was prepared well and I really enjoyed the crispy crinkle cut fries. The service was great too. The staff was attentive and delivered prompt service. The drinks are good too.

Second time here from out of town. This trip the place was much emptier and the service was lacking but seems to be because of a new hire. Good was excellent and drink selection was plenty

I've had better crabcake at Ashburn Wine shop and qt Frye's on Waxpole. The service was very good. The food and Manhattan were mediocre.

I had a great experience! The food was so good and the staff were super accommodating, especially Elise, who was the girl serving me. She did a phenomenal job, and made my experience ten times better. I would absolutely go back just for her. Thanks Elise!!

Really good, fresh seafood (I had the salmon with lemon sauce and my husband had the crab cake sandwich). Everything was cooked to perfection and really well seasoned (broccoli, salads). Great server and kitchen staff.

My server was Elise and she was so kind, good communicator and I really enjoyed the food! Would come again.

I had such a great experience at Potomac Taphouse! The food was great, but what really made the night was the incredible service from Elise, our server. From the moment we were seated, Elise was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. She checked in at all the right times without being overbearing and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
Elise had great recommendations, answered all our questions with patience, and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Her energy was so positive and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. I would absolutely come back again. Not just for the great food, but for the top-tier service. If you go, definitely ask for Elise. She’s the best!

Great happy hour, fantastic beers, super friendly staff. Definitely raised the bar over Saigon (former restaurant), will be making this a regular haunt.

Bartender is a great salesperson, trying a bourbon flight next visit!!
