Great view of the railroad tracks, could easily hang out in this spot all day! Great selection of experimental beers and it's nice to have something that doesn't taste like every other NEIPA or Stout on the market. Kind of small on the inside if it gets busy, but there's more than enough space outside, whether in the front or back

Decided to add this place as a stop for our girls night since it was local. Wasn’t a fan of the atmosphere, beer, or the fact they don’t take cash. (Maybe it was just the guy behind the counter as my friend had stated she thought they did in her previous stop there.) We ended up going to other local breweries. Overall it was okay but as someone who lives in town, it didn’t quite live up.
Nice little brewery. Enjoyed all the beers I tried. Place also has a nice beer garden out back. The outdoor mojo out front is also neat being right by the tracks, and the indoor section is small seating-wise but has a solid vibe.
Depending on where you’re coming from, Google Maps stopped me before the tracks and said I arrived. There is parking on that side though and you can easily walk across the tracks in certain spots.
Tons of great choices and merchandise!
Huge variety of beers. Fast friendly service with indoor and outdoor seating - some with a fire pit!
Great beer and atmosphere
The IPA was so good I bought a grog!
This is my hometown local brewery. Small, but located directly on the train tracks running through town. You can sit mere feet away and watch lots of passenger and freight trains roll by. The beers are always inventive and tasty, and it functions sort of like a test lab for the larger Center of the Universe brewery down the highway. The staff is always friendly and the clientele is always good.
I stayed at a great Airbnb right next door and they gave us a $20., no strings attached, gift card to the Beer Lab.From the minute we got in to the Lab we felt the happy vibe. The service was good and personal. The atmosphere was upbeat, bright, and clean. Of course, most importantly, the beer and cider are VERY GOOD. I had a flight and asked the server to choose two of the four for me:) They were all super!!!!One person in my party had a cider and enjoyed it enough to get a second! The other person had a flight and then got one of them as a single. ?If you are traveling to Ashland VA, I highly recommend the Origin Beer Lab and the super Airbnb right next door.

Great place!
Great little experimental brewery, around 10 different beers available on tap. All their beers are unique and brewed in small batches as test brews for the main brewery, center of the universe. Located right on the train tracks, they have an indoor/outdoor seating arrangement. Plenty of room for the whole family. You can relax and watch the trains go by as you sip some one of a kind beers. Highly recommend.
Small and friendly local brewery located right in downtown Ashland. A nice place!
This is a pretty nice microbrewery in Ashland VA. According to their web site this place was built for research, development, and teaching of all things beer and they do have some interesting types. Although this also means they're changing so don't assume the one you liked will be there on your next trip. Anyway on our stop they had 8 brews on tap. All of these were lighter beers and no porters, browns, stouts, etc. The one I personally liked the best was a Pineapple Whip, which was very good especially on a hot day. This place doesn't have a kitchen, but there are nearby restaurants for food. They do have indoor and outdoor seating areas. The front outdoor area is pretty unique with trains passing relatively close. Overall a nice place to stop by if you're in Ashland VA.
