I personally love the Peaks, always have always will. I keep seeing reviews about the place being “unsanitary, or having bed bugs, or even terrible food and hospitality” when’s it’s always been quite the opposite for my husband and I. It has always been the best atmosphere to get away and enjoy nature and peace and quiet. And this trip was no different! The whole experience from check in - to check out was fantastic. We had a nice, basic lunch at an interior table - the number of window tables is understandably limited. The staff was very friendly. The food was fine and affordable. We came to check the lodge off our bucket list - I wouldn’t recommend going too far out of your way to stop in.
We had lunch there today. Service was good. We had a reuben with onion rings and a bacon, avocado, tomato panini with sweet potato fries. Our food was good and reasonably priced. The view from the dining room was amazing. We hope to return soon for dinner. We used to enjoy the Friday seafood buffet, but that is no longer available. The lodge, restaurant and grounds are worth the trip any season of the year.
