stopped in yesterday. they were not very friendly for a new patron . Choices were very limited. I bought two muffins and two carrot cake cupcakes. Both were very dry so I'm thinking they were old , I guess I should of asked if they were fresh. Any way they were thrown out $13 Wasted. ill Stick to martins muffins cheaper and always moist.

I have been seeing their cookies, cakes, and treats all over social media so I decided to order a bunch of spring/Easter cookies for my staff and man - DELICIOUS! I also got a treat for myself while I was there and not only was that delicious too, but the staff were very kind and friendly. I would highly recommend!

Stopped in for the first time recently to check them out. Tried an assortment of things cookies, quiche, ham and cheese bake, lemon tart. Their cold brew coffee here is even stronger than the coffee at Cordial in Berryville. I saw cookie cakes in the fridge. Would like to try more things. They definitely seem like a good choice to go with for cakes based on their social media posts!

I’ve never had something I didn’t like from Sweet Elephant. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious, cookies are spectacular (the ginger molasses are my favorite), cakes and cinnamon rolls are out of this world. I can be very picky when it comes to icing but theirs is honestly perfect. I highly recommend giving Sweet Elephant a try. You won’t be disappointed!

NOTE ... I will have left a zero rating if I could have! I was initially excited to learn of this bakery located in Berryville. There aren't a lot of decent bakeries in the Winchester area. I made the 35 mile trip to Berryville to visit the bakery and inquire about a special order. I expressed my elated feelings that another bakery had opened up in the Winchester area! To begin with, the reception at this bakery was lukewarm, at best. Absolutely NONE of the questions I ask were answered, most of which were very simple questions. Every question was met with the same response ... "You will have to email the individual at their email address on this card", which was basically basically a business card for the bakery. I was a little frustrated that the two ladies in the bakery that day did not appear to be the least bit interested in earning my business. And one of the two ladies in the bakery that day was one of the owners. So after about 10 minutes of, "you'll have to email the lady on the business card", I decided to leave the bakery while thinking to myself, "what a wasted trip this was!". Before I even left Berryville, I did what the employee in the bakery said to me about 100 times, I emailed the individual listed on the bakery's business card. I wanted to order one and perhaps two specialty" Valentine's Day cookies decorated for a birthday for someone who is VERY special to me and whose birthday is on Valentine's Day. In the email I also explained that I would be buying multiple small bags of one-bite Valentines cookies from the store. I figured my total purchase would be in the $40 - $50 range. Apparently, my visit to the store, the excitement I shared with the ladies in the bakery about having another bakery option in the Winchester area, and the email to the person listed on the business card was a total waste of time. It's been five days now, three days till Valentine's Day, and I have not received a phone call or email from anyone from The Sweet Elephant Bake Shop. I get the distinct feeling these " business owners "are not from the valley, but instead, northern Virginia or Washington DC. The attitudes and lack of follow through from a perspective customer are not representative of folks I'm used to dealing with in the Winchester area. My hope is they will close up shop and take their little hoity-toity attitudes back to the city. So, three days till Valentine's Day, and the birthday of someone very special, and I have nothing special to give. Thank you Sweet Elephant Bake Shop, for nothing.

A small bakery with a warm homey feel. The variety of products was surprisingly large for a small shop. 28 different items in the display cases and 8 varieties of prepackaged cookies on the shelves. This is a family business that started in the home kitchen. It is run by a woman who has a love for baking. With that in mind, I expected homestyle pastries, and that's what they provided. My wife and I tried 4 pastries. 1) Walnut Toffee Bar It had moderate sweetness, a light toffee flavor, and moderate walnut flavor. The bottom layer was a slightly sweet cookie type base that was moist and slightly chewy. It was topped with walnuts and toffee. More toffee flavor was needed, but this is great for lovers of walnuts. 2) Gooey Chewie Bar This was definitely gooey from lots of caramel in a chewy fudge like bar. It wasn't overly sweet. It had some pieces of nuts in it. The crisp crust on top was slightly sweet and had great texture. It was a simple dessert that was made well. 3) Blueberry Crumble It had a flaky croissant like pastry shell filled on top with blueberry jam and cream cheese. It looked like a danish. The cream cheese was smooth and light with a natural flavor. It was not sweet. Sweetness came from the blueberry jam. It had a good sweet fruit flavor that contrasted nicely with the slightly tangy cream cheese. The pastry shell was well-made. The exterior was flaky and crisp while the interior was light, airy, and slightly chewy. This dessert doesn't look pretty, but the flavors were well-matched and satisfying. 4) Cinnamon Roll with spiced cream cheese frosting The spices in the cream cheese were cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. The spices were subtle tasting, but there was enough to give the frosting flavor a hint of spiciness. The roll was soft, moist, and slightly tacky between the layers where the cinnamon was located. The spicy cinnamon was balanced with sweetness from the frosting and roll. Overall, the taste and texture were excellent. The service was helpful, polite, and quick. The store was very clean. They don't have restrooms, tables, or chairs for customers. They have cakes, slices of cake, cupcakes, muffins, quiches, brownies, scones, cookies, coffee, tea, and bottled water. Everything was reasonably priced. The pastries and cookies were not fancy or unique. There was no pastry chef level of presentations here. Everything looked homemade. The food here brings warm feelings of home cooking. They're a good place for comfort food.

This was my 3rd time ordering from them. We got my daughters 1st birthday smash cake last week! It was so perfect & delicious. But aside from the cake, I just want to say thank you to them for how amazing their customer service is. They are always pleasant. But I had one employee, a male whose name I wish I got , that really went out of his way and it was so appreciated! I went in to get the cake and had both my young daughters with me. My youngest still needed to be carried and there was no parking nearby so I parked around the corner. The gentleman walked me to the car with the cake so I didn’t have to worry about dropping and ruining it, all in the rain! It was very sweet and really made my day. So thank you!

Such a cute little bakery! The baked goods are sooo good! Got the expresso brownie(which is gluten free if you want that) and I can’t even compare it to anything else. Really good! And I had their sea salt Chocolate chip cookies , and they’re amazing! Decent prices for a small town bakery too.

Best pastry shop I've ever been to! Has the most tasty snacks and the greatest cakes I've ever had. One time when we requested for a cake to be made, it didn't take as long as they thought it would, so they actually gave us back a refund.

I usually have a good experience with the baked goods at this shop, but today I was greatly disappointed by their $7 pack of cookies.I bought the chocolate expresso cookies - they were hard/dense - almost as if there was no leavening in them. Plus they lacked sweetness and had no specific flavor.**please make sure you are sampling your products before you put them out on the shelf for sale!

I’ve had Sweet Elephant cookies twice now - once we were given some cookies as a house warming gift and another time was a custom order of sugar cookies. The ordering process was relatively easy, and I received exactly what I was expecting. The sugar cookies are beautifully made, and it really showcases the Shop’s skills. The taste of the sugar cookies though is meh, and definitely could be better. The chocolate chip cookies are scrumptious though; I could eat a bunch in one sitting!

The cake pop was fresh and delicious, just the right amount of sweetness.

My daughter and I came into the sweet Elephant bake shop just before closing. We couldn't decide on any one dessert so we bought many. We were super excited to try our goodies! If you are a fan of "old fashioned frosting"... this place is amazing!!!! We are new to the area just having moved from Las Vegas, Nevada. This by far is now our #1 place for sweet yummy treats/desserts! Thank you!!! Very thing was amazing!!!!
