The food here is bland and inconsistent—often either overcooked or still cold when it arrives. The menu is all over the place, with way too many items to be done well. Most of it seems to be frozen food that’s deep fried and served at a marked-up price. It wouldn’t take much to make fresh hush puppies or chicken tenders in-house, but instead, you get something that tastes like it came straight from a freezer bag.
The servers and bartenders are not the problem—they’re doing their best. The real issue is management. The bathrooms are always dirty, with broken trashcans, a bad smell, and watered-down soap that doesn’t even feel like soap. The employees are washing their hands without real soap? Really?
The air conditioning either doesn’t work or isn’t on, and the whole place feels hot, humid, and uncomfortable. There’s no natural light, and the atmosphere is dark and dungeon-like. The floors are consistently grimy, and the mop water smells like it hasn’t been changed in months.
Management is clearly not doing their job and they should be fired for running the restaurant in this condition. The place needs a full overhaul—from the menu to the cleanliness to the leadership. Right now, it’s not worth the price, the time, or the discomfort. Stay away.

I visited this place on Saturday and me and my girlfriend waited 15 minutes to be seated, all the waitresses kept looking at us but didn’t even ask or let us know that we had to wait, we ended up leaving ! Probably never going back to this place, sad cuz i really liked this food!

The Blacksburg location is terrible. Looks dirty, run down, and not in alignment with the price of food. We have gone recently and our service was dissatisfactory. Our waitress only came one time between us getting our meal and offering us our check. They let me order a sandwich they said they “no longer offer”, but I was not informed of that when I ordered. We sent it back and they brought another that was too fatty to consume/chew. My husband ordered the mac and cheese and there is no way that place was worth $19. As soon as she could she would leave our table refusing to engage in conversations to make our order right. We also could hear the wait staff yelling from the kitchen. We will never be visiting the Blacksburg Bull and Bones again.

We came in with a group of 17 to celebrate a huge milestone, VCOM graduation, and this disaster of a restaurant completely ruined the night from start to finish.
It took 45 minutes just to get water. Over an hour later our food finally arrived and it was cold, sloppy, and barely edible. Not a single plate was correct. You’d probably get better service and hotter food at a vending machine.
They automatically added a 20 percent gratuity. For what? Ignoring us the entire time? We had to argue just to get it removed. Then days later they sneak-charged our card for it anyway.
The staff was totally checked out. Rude, distracted, and totally uninterested in helping anyone. No one was communicating. No one cared. Everyone was in their own little world doing the bare minimum while guests sat confused and frustrated.
We tried to give them chances. Asked to speak with someone. Tried ordering at the bar. Just wanted basic service. They baited us with false promises and we got nothing but stress in return.
Save yourself and your family from this nightmare. Spend your money anywhere else. We took the bait. SAVE YOUSELF AND FAMILY. DO NOT ENTERTAIN THIS PLACE.

Food is small, dry, and poorly portioned. The brisket sandwich is one of the smallest I’ve ever seen. The burgers are dry and overcooked, the beers are sub-par. Fries are good, but that’s about it. It smelled good when we walked in, but I was surprised how empty it was on a Saturday afternoon. After eating here, now I know. I’ll be looking elsewhere next time I’m in Blacksburg.

Appetizers were very good, the nachos with th smoked meat was excellent. The steak was okay, we had the ribeye but it was too thin for our taste. I asked for medium rear and I got medium. It was not bad and tased good, but was not as I like my steak to be. Staff was helpful and friendly.
