This was one of the most disappointing meals I have ever had. The beer that I wanted of course was tapped out. The Mac & cheese w/pulled pork was served cold, the cheese wasn't even melted. I sent it back and it was still slightly warmer but let's face it I wouldn't have trusted it if sent back again. They obviously had no work ethic or professionalism. The manager didn't even check on us after the food was sent back. I would strongly recommend not wasting your money or time with the poor food, service or lack of should I say.

After a few visits over the past years, I’ll say they’ve had their ups and downs. For the sake of brevity, I’ll touch on what i believe to be the pro’s and con’s of this establishment.PROS: Friendly & Personable service, cold beer, large bar area, plenty of tables. Lots of pool tables. Great burgers, bartenders do well for generic cocktail options.CONS: Service can be slow at times, especially away from the bar. Not many beers on tap. Some menu items lack flavor. Bartenders aren’t well versed or trained on more specialty cocktails.Otherwise, fair prices and alright food for a small town. In a place where we aren’t offered many options, this is a solid choice for a weekend stop in. Thurs - Sun would be your best bet, slow otherwise. Great place to watch a game!

The menu offers a delightful array of options, each one more enticing than the last. The food was cooked to perfection, with flavors that danced on the palate. Their in-house brewed beers are a true highlight, offering unique and refreshing options. The Maroon Effect rocks. Service was impeccable, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Awesome selection of house beer. Larger selection of more traditional style beers than found at most breweries these days.Had some of the BBQ as well and it was very good.

We had high hopes . I ordered the ahi tuna wrap . If you go in for a meal hungry don’t order this ! What I actually received was a very small lettuce wrap with a hint of ahi tuna . The sauce ginger soy saved me it was actually good . My husband ordered the biggest burger on the menu and I have never had a hamburger be tasteless but it was , no taste at al. The little bit of pulled pork on the hamburger was decent . Just so diappponting and a waste of money. The service was also not good ! I felt the waitress was over extended with too many tables but our food was as given to us and that was it ! No check ins no refills . We had to ask for our check at the hostess desk . Just don’t .

Went for a birthday party, we were either the first or second to order and the very last by 20min to get our food. When we finally got our food it was sub par. My daughter’s broccoli was raw not steamed and my father’s Philly had 3 pieces of meat, 2 peppers and 2 onions and was cold. To wait over 2 hours with waiters who didn’t care at all is absolutely unacceptable. The lack of care from the waiters shows they don’t need to be in that job. The only reason we stayed is cause the party was still going and we are simply cause we were so hungry and from out of town. I cannot express how angry the situation made me. Please, please stay away. Save your money this place has high end prices for frat boy level effort.

7 of us went for a 50th birthday dinner. Arrived at 5pm to an empty restaurant. It took over 30 min to get my cocktail and by the time I got it the ice was mostly melted and drink watered down. We waited over an hour for our meals. At this point we were there TWO hours so my husband left. B-day boy's steak was a piece of gray leather. He didn't want to send it back...oh well. He left early as well. Finally THREE hours after we arrived, we got our checks and one was charged for a beer he never received. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. Think the kicker was while we were waiting 15 min to receive our checks...our waiter, David was sitting in the server area, playing on his phone and laughing with the other servers.

We have always loved this place. Granted it’s been a few years since we’ve been. Decided to go last night and we were really disappointed. 5 adults and we all disliked our meals. My salad came out of bag with a few cucumbers and the roasted chicken was cold , like out of the refrigerator cold. The Mac and cheese tasted old and even the cheese fries left a lot to be desired. Really sad this was a great place at one time!

The food was very good, but the service was terrible. We went during dinner time during a football game which we expected to be busy. Although, there was only one server helping the whole bar area and he couldn’t keep up with all the tables. While we understand there was going to be a wait considering there was ONE server, but our server was unfriendly and rude.

This Blacksburg favorite lures me repeatedly with its beer line-up, killer comfort food, available seating, and friendly staff. Treat yourself to a pint of Dusseldorf-style Appalachian Alt or the Maroon Effect. Both are rock stars among New River Valley beers. Bull & Bones has become a go-to destination when entertaining business colleagues from other countries. Many international travelers have had pulled pork, but Bull & Bones' melt-in-your-mouth brisket takes barbecue to another level. The only negative I can report is how, when crowded, the low-budget warehouse architecture becomes a horrible echo chamber that will not please guests with hearing difficulties.

Do not recommend.Food had no taste. Service was lackluster.Nachos appetizer had chicken out of a can. Cheese on nachos was cold. Inedible. Pulled pork was edible, but no flavor. Slaw was just diced cabbage. Not creamy nor vinegar. Fries no flavor. Chicken strips out of a bag.Menu looked good but could get better tasting food - as another reviewer said- at McDonalds.Improve quality of food or your restaurant will be a short timer. Did not enjoy meal.Kid-friendliness: Had kid menu. Kids tenders were frozen out of a bag. Just not good.

I’m at a comedy club event right now that I paid $10 for and can’t hear a thing on stage. There is no coordination between the event organizers and the house facilities. The staff B&B staff keep saying they have no control over the audio and the group running the event only have access to the speakers on-stage. In general, really poor setup.NB: contact me if you want a deeper report.
