This place is SO. DARN. GOOD. The freshest sushi, the most flavorful broths. The cocktails are DELICIOUS and nuanced, they have both craft cocktail and “dive bar” style. Sapporo ON DRAFT. The tea is also delicious, the hot ginger tea is so yummy and spicy. They are generous with sashimi portions and service is attentive and prompt. The vibes are cozy as well. 10/10

DO NOT ACCEPT DASHER ORDERS HERE. 35 minute wait for 2 appetizers. I promise I’m fine with a long wait, I would’ve just liked to have been notified. Every time I asked about the wait, I was always told it would just be a few minutes. Even Taco Bell tells me it’s going to probably be 20 to 30 minutes for a wait)
(Edit: was too generous when I wrote this, actually ended up taking an extra 10 minutes On top of that and my payment got cut in half, but I’m glad at least one of us got paid🙃)

Hefun is so good. It’s right in downtown Blacksburg and it never disappoints. The wait time is always quick, the service is fantastic, and every bartender and server is great and attentive. I’ve had alot of their stuff, the steak and chicken hibachi, and I’m originally from New York, so I’ve had my fair share of good food, but nothing has ever hit like Hefun’s hibachi. The flavors are solid, the portions are generous, and it’s consistently cooked perfectly every time. Their drinks are also super unique and perfect before a night out or for keeping things rolling after. Overall, the vibe is great, the food is fire, service, and vibe is all great which is why I go there all the time.

Hefun is one of my favorite restaurants in Blacksburg. I really enjoy the variety of asian dishes available on the menu. The food is excellent and the service is stellar. All of the staff are friendly and make every effort to give the best experience possible. If you don't know a lot about Asian food, just ask and they'll be happy to guide you in the right direction.
Woman manager is a bully. Never apologizes, never says thank you. The to-go system is a complete disaster. The staff is often clueless. My food is always given well after its promised time, with zero acknowledgement or apology. My order is often wrong, and sometimes doesn’t even belong to me. I’ve been belittled, talked down to, and grossed out all from the middle age woman manager. I can only imagine how the staff is treated by her.
The food is phenomenal, but not worth the abuse.

Horrible service! Given it many chances and will not be back. Had many messed up orders, and orders that have taken 30+ minutes longer than the estimated pickup time when they were not busy at all. All of this met with rude management and staff who do not even seem to be bothered or apologetic. Food is good, but not worth being treated like an annoyance for even coming in to the restaurant.

The food was good, we totally enjoyed. The only issue was the wait. You could tell they were slammed tonight, especially at the bar. There were only two bartenders back there and it felt like everyone kept yelling the young girl’s name for help, mostly that older waitress. This makes the bar even more chaotic. The older waitress did noting but took our order and then she just disappeared, the other girls brought our food and did the check. All I want to say come when they are not super busy, and I’d recommend the ramen and the bucket, definitely worth trying.

God forbid someone is trying to figure out wait times or when food will be ready. That will only be met with animosity from the staff here. Just go to kuma moon or rainbowl for better food and better service
