It was fine but nothing special. They put way too many chillies in my dish and it kinda drowned everything else out. Prices were reasonable but service was a bit slow.
Since the new owner, the quality sadly no longer the same. I ordered the Singpore noodles and there was a bug in the food. I brought it back, and the two servers looked at each other and laughed... They said they would remake it or refund, definitely a refund and so sad lost a favorite place to eat in Blacksburg.
Lovely asian food ... Every dish was freshly made and delicious. Service was slow and they missed making one dish but given how good and fresh the food was, ans the portion sizes were good too .. we didn't mind the delay and missing dish. We especially liked Chongqing Spicy Chicken ?️?️?️
We had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant last night. The menu is extensive, and there is something for everyone. We started with Bang Bang shrimp and Hot & Spicy Crispy Shrimp. I enjoyed the Hot & Spicy Crispy Shrimp. It was delicious, spicy, and presented well. The Bang Bang shrimp was good too, but it could be more delicious. We tried Hot & Spicy Fish, Chongqing Spicy Chicken, and Braised Chicken for our main course. Chongqing Spicy Chicken was spicy, well-fried, and had a delicious taste. Braised Chicken was cooked well with vegetables and has a unique flavor. Hot & Spicy Fish was slightly spicy with lots of gravy; however, the fish was overcooked. We enjoyed our time at the restaurant, and the staff was very welcoming. The atmosphere was great, both inside and outside. The main course was served in large portions, so we left feeling very full.
Cumin lamb was really good. Can't say much the same as it processed. I've had spicy food before, but my bodies never reacted like this. My dad went about a month back and apparently got some raw chicken. Didn't go well. I don't know what it is about Asian establishments, but there's always lax regulations for food storage. Watched a news report of a place in VA that had a rotting fish nestled near the sink in the kitchen. :)Probably should have gone for the broccoli with onions. Less of a risk of stuff being undercooked.I can agree with another review. The spice that's there is inconsistent, and so is the rating. Two jalapenos. Okay- it'll be a tad spicy. The first couple bites were great. I could taste the lamb, and the veggies complimented them well. But then the next few bites were just flat-out flavorless apart from the cumin or whatever they doused it in. Cumin shouldn't be that hot. And it seemed like they just dumped it all on top, so the outer rim of the lamb was barely touched while everything else was just pure spice. If I wanted that much, I'd just do it myself. And when I actually had to go to the bathroom to clear my throat out, it's just as bad as any Asian restaurant. Almost all of the decor tiles are gone. All that's left is the calk. Always seems like the bathrooms were janitorial closets in another life. The only good thing I can say is the service was good. Bumbling teens/20's but I am one so I don't have room to talk. lol
Had the braised-beef brisket, and it was phenomenal. Quick service and a clean space, no complaints there.
Ordered food through my friend’s account on grub hub last Thursday at 6.55 pm. It said the food would get delivered at 7.45. I gave them a call at 8.15, since the food hadn’t arrived, was told they were out for delivery and should be there in no time. Called again at 8.45, was told I should be there any minute. At 9, we reach out to grub hub to let them know the food hasn’t arrived and mid- chat with the agent, the chat gets disconnected. Order status changes after 5 mins to cancelled( we never wanted it cancelled but it said it did). Called them up and asked what was up - they apologize and keep insisting that the food should be there any minute. I explain what happened with grub hub situation and they tell me well we did that on our end, don’t worry food will be delivered and it’s no cost since we took over 2 hours to deliver. I ask them point blank if they were making this up as we were really hungry and we are fine ordering from elsewhere. They plead and insist that the food should be there any minute. Guess what? They didn’t deliver the food.Order delivery from this place at your own risk. If they are this dishonest about their service, I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut corners elsewhere. Also looks like some of the other reviews might be paid for or incorrectly written- they describe how this place has good pizza/burger/subs etc not something that describes a run of the mill Chinese restaurant
For a time in 2022 This was the best food you could find in Blacksburg. It was delicious well made food. Then at some point they changed chefs and the food went downhill drastically. For me it's hugely disappointing because I genuinely loved their food before. It's now a shadow of what it once
Excellent food. Not your standard Chinese food menu. Well worth the visit and the portions are large.
Only provide this middle of the road review as this review is mostly based on their menu. While authentic preparation is great and I look for that, my suggestion to owners is to menu appetizers and appetizer soups, prepared authentically in addition to their innovative dishes ie dumplings, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, etc. 100 customers at $18 average check is $ $1800. vs the current menu of 20 customers at $25 average check= $500. Per day. Good policy is to mix favorites with innovative menu options to satisfy larger customer base and ensure viability of restaurant- a suggestion.

Wow!! This is the most authentic Chinese food I've had since visiting China a few years ago. I ordered for pick up the yuxiang pork, garlic bok choy, and braised eggplant. HOLY MOLY! Everything was amazing and it was so much food. If you love super spicy, get the yuxiang pork. I am from Louisiana and was not expecting this level of kick up here. I was crying and sweating for real. ? If you pick out the chili's it takes it down a few notches though. So good!
Vegetarian options: Lots of great vegetarian options on the menu.
The food is good here but not consistent. We got large plate of chicken twice. First time it was fine. They give you a two container full of chicken in 20$ which is not bad. Second time same large plate of chicken was SPICY. Spicy in a level that you cannot eat them. What you see is only red chilli flakes all over your meat. My husband who cannot handle heat had a bad reaction. It does not show in their website that large plate of chicken is going to be this hot and neither it was for the first time. The food was completely different from the first time we ate. Be aware!!
I am a Delivery Driver in Blacksburg. I got a delivery order from Lin Yue Chuan. I went there for pickup the food. They gave me twoonly small bags. I got confused because the order should be big. There was 18 items of food around $152. I asked them to double check the item because it's not possible to fit that much food in two small bag. They said we can't double check it, and if you want take it otherwise cancel the order. Then I take the food. While I was on the way to my vehicle I saw the water dripping from the bag. I open the bag to check what happening inside the bag. I saw there are two full container of water and some old rice. I checked another bag too. There also same thing, no food at all. I have attached the picture here for proof. I talked with other delivery driver in our Facebook group. They said thet they also found water container in the bag several times.Lin Yue Chuan is biggest scammer in Blacksburg. Do not buy food from them. They are selling sink water in curry container to make money. Be careful
We've had Chinese food all over the world and feel LYC is fantastic. The menu is not hugely varied, but we've had most of it already and it is all terrific. The food and service here is authentic, so if that worries you, there are plenty of americanized versions you can go to instead. The prices look high, but the portions are very large.
If you want some legit Asian food, this is the place. Some items are not for the faint of heart though; can be very spicy. They are the real deal though. Highly recommend for those that know how to eat “real” food!
