Over the 3 years my daughter studied here I've come to ocean Samurai at least a couple times, and very satisfied. The seafood, sushi/sashimi was fresh and good quality, but the thing I liked the most is their hot plates (kind of like a fajita iron plate), and you can choose different veggies and seafood and other protein options. These were extremely satisfying even more than the sushi items. I think it's good value for what you get here. I would definitely come again if I ever visit again

The pork katsu don with white rice was so incredibly delicious and the miso soup brought me back to the year I spent in Japan. The dinner portions are huge! The atmosphere is quaint. Glad I came and will be back.

Ocean Samurai is a hidden gem for anyone who loves Japanese culture. The atmosphere is mediocre but the sushi is incredibly fresh and well-balanced. Their yakisoba and unagi don brought back memories of meals I had in Japan — rich flavors, careful presentation, and real attention to detail.

Sushi was delicious and clean tasting. The only reason I did not give a higher rating is because of my seed weed salad. Seed weed salad should not be on top of lettuce because the water from lettuce takes away from the flavor.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting — not too flashy, just thoughtfully designed with a clean, modern aesthetic. It’s the kind of place where you can just as easily bring your family for a quiet dinner or meet up with friends for a casual night out.
The sushi here is consistently fresh and beautifully presented. I’m not someone who’s easily impressed by rolls — but Ocean Samurai’s signature rolls are something else. You can tell they put real care into each dish, both in flavor and presentation. Even the rice is seasoned just right, which says a lot. I also appreciate the range of options for folks who don’t eat raw fish — their bento boxes, hibachi, and cooked items are just as good.
One of the things I really love is how they’ve made an effort to connect with the community. It’s clear they care about the people who live here, not just the students. The staffs are friendly and down-to-earth, and they always greet returning guests like family. I’ve had several conversations with the owners and it’s obvious they’re passionate about what they do.

We came here for the first time this evening expecting a great date due to recommendations from friends and other locals. The restaurant is beautiful and was really nice. However, we waited over an hour and a half for our food. During this time, our waitress did not check on us once. She was very busy checking on other guests but made it clear that she was not making our table a priority. Another guest of hers left before ordering because she also experienced a long wait. Our food was semi-warm and after the frustration, wasn’t worth the wait or price. We are sad to say we won’t be coming back.
