So grateful with the staff, the manager in particular and our waitress. They were absolutely amazing! The manager saved the day, as we mixed up the dates and unknowingly reserved a table for Monday the 21st. But she found a table for us so my family could have and enjoy our special brunch! Thank you! Very friendly service; attentive. Food was good to very good depending on the dish. Kitchen forgot a sauce on our entree, but they quickly corrected it. The friendly service convinced us to disregard the mistake. Thank you for a good, quiet evening with a quality meal!

On the campus of Virginia Tech, the restaurant is beautifully appointed and the food is wonderful! We really had a wonderful evening with a wonderful server.

Res 2/14/25 at7:15 pm. Seated at 7:30 pm had a bottle of wine and cocktail and ordered almost as soon as we sat down. 1 hour 15 minutes later no bread or appetizers and waitress never returned. Table next to us who came in 30 minutes after us got bread. We left and complained to manager. Preston's has really worsened over the last several years and we won't be back

We ordered the special and a bottle of wine. It took us almost 2 hours to get her entrée and they were cold. Service was subpar.

I had gone for Valentines day with my boyfriend and the steak I ordered was amazing and so were the fries but my boyfriends burger came out 15 minutes after my steak and burnt as well. The service was very nice but veryy discombobulated they brought us the wrong orders at first and when they brought the burger late the offered us free dessert but then put it on the tab once removed from the tab they brought us roses at the end of our meal but no desert. We asked for the desert and finally got the creme brulee I loved it my boyfriend thought it was too sweet. The ambience was very nice and the roses were a great touch just very unorganized in the back of the kitchen which made our dinner last 2 1/2 hours. If the organization were to be fixed and the burger cooked on a littles less time it wouldve been the perfect place, but we enjoyed it fine.

For special occasions and events, go early. The food is fantastic, but as the evening goes on, the kitchen gets backed up and you will wait a while before getting it.

Had the salmon and it was raw in the middle. I only ate about half of it. Had the lava cake and there was no "lava" in the middle. It was basically a dry chocolate cake with strawberry topping. Only ate a few bites of it. The coffee was room temperature so I ordered another one. It too was room temperature. Didn't drink either one. Will probably not go back.
Breakfast bar was hands down the worst I have ever experienced. Sausage was old and shriveled up, French toast had parts of it so hard you couldn't chew it. Everything was old and cold. We were actually excited to try it out, for $38 with tip were highly disappointed.

Food was quite yummy, had the smashburger. Not a true smashburger, but had great flavor.
Darn decent prices on whisky pours! Great bar, service and food. Double of eagle rare for $40.

I ordered a portobello sandwich and I chose broccoli as my side. The broccoli had alcohol in it, consumption of alcohol goes against my religion. In the menu it did not state this. Also the sandwich was very salty. The manager was not respectful she still chose to charge me for this. I felt like I wasn't treated with respect because of my ethnic background.

The service was slow. Appeared to be a student-run restaurant. I ordered an appetizer. It never came. I had to tell the server to cancel it when our entrees came out after a long wait. I ordered a steak medium rare. They served me a well-done steak and told me that it must have been mixed up with another table. Had to wait for another steak. The second steak actually tasted very good. They comped us a dessert for our trouble, which was nice. The dessert was their special bread pudding, which we did not care for.
