Rubber pizza. Undercooked. Asked them nicely to cook but refused. 🤢🤢
Bald guy was weird. Fire him at once and I will buy all the beer.
Fun place, great people, reliably awful beer.
Beer was phenomenal. The burger was so-so. Fries were really good, my buddy's pizza looked great and the purple sauce was interesting. 1 star off because there were dozens of children running around, which isn't the ambience I look for when out with friends drinking (it was past 5pm). I mean so many children I thought I was in a daycare.
Chill and delicious!
This place was great! We stopped there after a round of golf and while we didn’t look the part it really didn’t matter. Has a cool and relaxed farm vibe. The staff were super friendly, the little farmers market was awesome, I bought some green beans for grilling that night and they were so fresh and crunchy! The food was friggin delicious!! We got the Cuban sandwich and the burger - the burger was sooo juicy and all the ingredients were so fresh. They had a sour IPA which was great too. I have no pics because we were starving but I highly recommend.
I've been coming here for the last 3 and a half years since I moved to the area and ill absolutely keep coming back because the beer, food, and atmosphere are excellent. No other brewery in the area compares as far as I've experienced.
Only negative experience over this time was a large unauthorized tip on my card after I had forgotten to close my tab before leaving. No issues retrieving my card from the cashier the following morning. Appreciate the owners reversing the charge for the tip in less than a day and making things right. Review has been updated to reflect this.
So glad we found this little gem. Outdoor seating was full of families hanging out along with lots of older couples. Beautiful location surrounded by farm country. Just driving through on our way home. Delicious pepperoni pizza and burger. Highly recommend making this a go to for dinner.
Long lines for overpriced bad beer.
I wsa there with my adult children and their toddler and 8 year old. It was a great outdoor scene for the kids, and we could sit at a table outside and listen to the music and watch the children play.
I loved the farm stand atmosphere. LOVED the live Irish music! Love the whole scene. The brews were tasty. I would have preferred more I.P.A. choices but the brews that I had were nice.
We shared some pizza and had a very nice time listening to the great music and enjoying the evening together.
I was coming in from outta town and my horse needed water. So I says to myself I need to find some where to get somethin to eat and something strong to drink . So I started searching for the nearest place I could find. I came across a farmer named JP. I inquired if he knew of a good place to get somethin to drink and maybe a hot plate of some kind. He says yeah it's a brewery right down the road its hard to miss. I thanked him for his good direction. In about a hour or so I came across what looked like a red barn and I was intrigued. So I got of my horse and made my way toward the red building. When i was finally inside I inquired if this indeed was a brewery like the farmer had said down the road. The woman working behind the counter her name was Alyssa. She said yes it was,I said do you have something strong to drink like I like way out west. She said if I had heard off the cow Belgium. I said in reply i ain't never been to Europe. She then poured me a glass and boy was it mighty dark. After she had poured me a glass I then inquired the name of this place. She said in reply, Rising silo was the name. I then took a swig of that dark beer and I bid her a good day. I then got back on my horse and away I rode. I can say that, that beer was the best I had in fact had in all my years of a rambler cowboy.

The Wine on the vine beer is sooo good & if you’re looking for delicious naturally grown veggies, this is the spot to come to!
My friend and I came here for dinner and drinks. We ordered our food separately, but at the same time. My meal, a sandwich and fries, came out 40 minutes before my friend’s, and hers was just a veggie bowl. When her bowl came, it was missing half of the ingredients that was supposed to be on it. It was disappointing to not eat together and to also have her meal be lacking what was supposed to come with it.
Good people, good food, good beer, good vibes! Rising Silo is such a special place. It's a brewery located on a farm on the edge of Blacksburg--both the beer and food are always fresh and seasonal, you can count on something new, but also dependable standbys. They have a great grassy lawn for lounging and taking in the fresh air and beautiful mountain views. Kids love running around and it's super dog-friendly. Also very much appreciate the variety of non-alcoholic options like their house made sodas, ginger beer, cider, and flavored and unflavored sparkling water. They also started carrying a selection of near beers! And live music!! One of the few places in town with a consistent weekly lineup of live music. We love Rising Silo
The food and drinks are great! The only downside is that every time I've been here, the line to order and get drinks is extremely long. While indoor seating is limited, the outdoor area offers a beautiful sunset view and live music!
Eight of us spent a great Saturday evening celebrating Virginia Tech graduations. Pizzas, great Silo burger, tortellini salad were all delicious and hard water in several flavors, good beer choices and a hellacious downpour that left a gorgeous double rainbow! We had the best time ever and will be back! This is a great place with great food & drink! Cheers!
