Had a great experience here, the two owners were nice. Burgers and fries definitely can't go wrong.

Stop here on your I-77 road trip, get a burger and tots. It’s a tiny diner that mostly caters to Appalachian trail hikers, but it’s a nice change of pace from truck stop McDonalds. The owner is delightful to talk to.

Sweet family run stop along the Appalachian Trail. Tasty food served hot and beautiful view from picnic tables. *See pictures of menu and hours valid as of 7/17/23 but check them out on Facebook/Instagram for any changes or specials.

I rated this place 5 stars in every way but you have to know what you’re getting into. My yuppie family was passing through on our way to Charleston with hungry children, so I did a frantic “Open Now” restaurant search and found this place. The Appalachian Trail literally runs beside this restaurant, so “outpost” is a great name. If I had been hiking 600 miles I couldn’t imagine a better place to stop and load on the hot food calories. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the fried food was as good as it gets. The atmosphere is picnic tables, a great view, and hikers that haven’t had a bath in months. The company is “random” as the AT inspires all sorts of people to tackle it. My family had an amazing time socializing with “Struggle Bus” and his friends and a great lunch. I know all hikers stopping here will be happy and I highly recommend it to them!

Five star rating from the perspective of a hungry northbound section hiker. Great cheeseburgers! Friendly people. A bathroom! Limited resupply. Right on trail!
Very helpful via Facebook Messenger with trail info.

Was looking for something local on a road-trip and found this gem. The road to it follows I-77 so it’s easy to get to. Extremely friendly family run place with great food and large portions. Flagged this to visit again when passing through.

Closed through July 4th week. Sign on door said opening July 11th. I was there July 11th... From 9am until 11am when my shuttle driver showed up early. No Ice cream, no burger... There were 6 other hikers that stopped by in that time and we're equally disappointed. I shared my left over food and water with them so they could make the next hostile to resupply in. I understand life happens, but if you advertise being open. Then be OPEN! Perhaps I'll be able to give a better review when I return next year.
