Bruster's Real Ice Cream

Having tried many ice cream places in the greater Richmond area, this place fell flat for me. We tried a few flavors and I must say, the ice cream is bland. I will say that their flavored ice cream has tons of mix-ins though (which is a plus) and the brownie that comes with the brownie sundae is great.

For two times in a week the Dubai pistachio is salty. I request the seller young lady to taste it and she confirms it is salty instead normal.

This is our very favorite Bruster’s location. The owner has created a sweet and thoughtfully maintained kids’ area, so going for ice cream offers a great hangout spot too! The workers are kind and of course, the ice cream is delicious.

Have been going to Bruster’s for years, and love that this location added a kids play area. But the few times I’ve visited this season the ice cream has been terribly melty. Today was 76 degrees, and ice cream is already dripping down the cone as it’s handed to me out the window. It’s a complete mess and ruins the experience. Not sure if they changed the freezer temp to save money, or changed the ice cream, but if it’s not fixed soon I’ll just buy a bottle of milk since that’s what you end up getting

The fact that there were about 8 youngsters working and all over the place with no order is crazy...while I stood there waiting on someone to take my order. All the while for 2 other young high schoolers to walk up in front me and be acknowledged. Ridiculous! I normally don't have a problem but this was one and I may just stick with the Bruster's near my house. Could really be a demographics issue. Maybe not, but I don't think I'll give it another chance for me to find out.

My favorite place.. many choices from dairy, non dairy, even doggie ice cream. This place is a most try.

With a smile that feels as soft as a scoop of their finest vanilla, he makes even the simple joy of ice cream feel like a scene from a romantic movie.

The ice cream was great. I will not come back to Bruster's in the near future however. Being asked if I want to tip by the cashier is unnecessarily stressful. It's already annoying to have to tap No Tip on counter service but being asked by the cashier while they're holding the screen and facing it in your direction? That is a pressure tactic. Forget this place.

Yummy ice cream with lots of choices. Their milkshakes are my favourite. Seating at outdoor tables only. They have some games and a big, sandy play area for kids. Drive through or walk up to the counter. It's a little bit pricey but the ice cream is much better than you get from any fast food drive through. Friendly staff and a great place to cool off with a cold treat.

New flavor of the day...HAIR! Found a long strand of hair in my chocolate Oreo ice cream. The attendant apologized and offered a replacement. Uhh...no thank you. I did get a refund without incident. Why isn't anyone wearing hair nets or hats? Isn't this a health violation? Anyway, hope they are sold out of today's special for your sake.?

This is the best ice cream shop around!!! Delicious flavors, including varied and rotating vegan oat milk ice cream (and the ice cream sandwiches cookies are vegan too and can be made with oat milk). Customer service is top-notch, it's locally owned, and we've had nothing but great experiences here! For your four legged companions, they offer pup cups!
