I was in Bristol for a week for training. Normally, I try to vary my food experiences as much as possible while out of town. I tried Happy Star on Monday and liked it so much I had to go back on Thursday to get more.
Since moving to the south from out west, I have had a hard time finding good Chinese food. This is one I definitely like. I really wish they would open a location in the Chattanooga area.

Best Asian cuisine takeout in Bristol area in my humble opinion.
We are new to ordering here. It’s so delicious we’ve ordered it 3 times in the last week. Huge round of applause, air hugs and love to the chefs and restaurant staff. Great job keeping it authentic and fresh. Yummy! We appreciate you all. Thank you for cooking our dinner.

Happy Star Chinese Restaurant in VA is a well-loved spot known for its delicious Chinese food and friendly service. Many customers praise the food as consistently tasty and satisfying, with some dishes like house special fried rice and crab rangoons receiving special mentions for their flavor and quality. The restaurant is appreciated for preparing vegetables well and seasoning food properly, making it a favorite for takeout and dine-in alike. Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable, making it a solid choice for those craving Chinese cuisine.
Customers often mention the friendly and accommodating staff, with one highlighting how a staff member patiently assisted with menu recommendations during a special occasion. The restaurant also scores high on cleanliness and packaging, ensuring takeout orders arrive in good condition. Online ordering is described as user-friendly, with orders ready on time.
However, some reviews note a recent experience where wait times increased due to a high volume of third-party delivery orders.
