We love going to El Cazador in Brookneal! It's so nice to have a Mexican restaurant close to home. The margaritas are delicious and I highly recommend getting a margarita flight so you can sample more than 1 flavor! I have loved everything I have tried there! The service is pretty good. Sometimes when they're slow we don't see our server quite as often, but overall the staff is a team and anyone will help you out. The only thing that could improve the atmosphere is if the music was not as loud.

I've had take out many times. Today, for the first time, my mother took me out to have dinner inside the restaurant. The food was okay, but my mother's food (quickest to make) took an unusually long time to receive. The server came to ask us how our food was, and she hadn't even received her plate, yet. When it finally came out, it wasn't even warm. She also ordered a to-go plate for my sister, and she drove the 20 mins home, only to find out that the food was completely incorrect. The only reason she didn't return to complain was because she didn't want to take the time and use the gas. Pretty disappointed about it.

My aunt and I came here Saturday (9/16) for lunch. It was my first time coming since it had opened. Normally, we go to the Altavista location but we were visiting relatives. We both agreed...this location makes the Altavista one look shameful! The decor is so beautiful and the place is so clean and fresh (something Golden Skillet never felt), the food was absolutely amazing (definitely recommend the Hawaiian Arroz Con Pollo). The staff is extremely friendly.Very satisfied with my visit and I cannot wait to come visit my relatives more often and treat them here!Def give this place your patronage! Brookneal finally has some culture and good food!

First time visiting this location. I was eager to try the food! I'm glad another restaurant opened at this location when the previous one closed. We lived in southern California for 12 years so we are very familiar with authentic Mexican food. That said, California Mexican is not the only style of Mexican food. But we can tell when the locals have complained that the food is just too hot. Black pepper is too hot for some of these folks! Well, let me assure you, the heat is still present in the food here! I got the Burrito Guadalajara and enjoyed every bite! Sure, the place is not completely decked out like a fancy Mexican restaurant but there was enough flair for me to enjoy my visit. We will come back to try more dishes and enjoy a very good representation of Mexican food in Rural Virginia.
