This once tiny, mom-and-pop taqueria has moved to this dazzling new location under a mile from the original spot. Everything was wonderful, from the generous menu selections to the atmosphere and ambiance. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing little gem of a Mexican restaurant near Reedville, Virginia. We had no expectations when we saw the establishment as you were driving by.We decided to stop on a whim and were comforted that even though it was off hours, the parking lot was already about half full.We walked into a modern well decorated Mexican restaurant that we learned has been opened for just a few months.We were quickly seated at a clean booth and the waiter quickly came over and was very friendly and cordial and took our initial orders. At the same time another person brought heaping baskets of very crisp chips and tons of salsa. In most Mexican restaurants you keep on having to ask for more salsa and I was pleasantly surprised that the large containers of salsa that are brought before us. It was quite good.I come from Arizona and there are no shortage of Mexican restaurants there. I really did not have much expectation in terms of the food quality here. There was an abundance of selections on the menu and we placed our orders. When the food came out, I was stunned by how large the portions were, especially considering how reasonable the prices were. It's been my experience in the past that large portions do not necessarily equal tasty meals. In this case I was pleasantly surprised because of food was excellent. It burst with flavor without being overwhelming and everything tasted fresh. Normally I can finish even a large portion in one setting but I could only eat half of my burrito and save the rest for later. Even after microwaving lead portion it remain delicious.Los portales has shown that good tasty food does exist even in out of the way Reedville. The next time I'm in town I will certainly visit again. I highly recommend this place with its excellent food and wonderful service.Parking: The parking lot is a decent size but because of how popular this place is, it does fill up quickly at peak meal times.

Could they use a few more servers, absolutely. Do they know this, absolutely! In this remote location, finding employees is a challenge for all the businesses. Be patient and know the owner is hands on, the food is fantastic and fresh and the restaurant atmosphere is very nice! The owner has lived in the area for, I believe, 30+ yrs and has a few other successful locations. We're thrilled to have such a nice LARGE restaurant/bar in our small town! Enjoy!

Stopped by during our vacation in Heathsville, VA. From the outside I wasn't expecting much but the food was great. Salsa and queso were delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals, portions are a good size. There are about 10-15 tables and it's very old/dated inside but the service was quick and our waiter was on top of everything. It appeared he was the only one waiting tables, but we didn't wait for anything, he was the most efficient waiter I've seen (wish I caught his name). Would definitely come back if in the area.
They got our order wrong twice and the third time we got our food it was cold and soggy. The Supreme tacos I paid for didn't even have sour cream onion or tomatoes all it had was cheese and lettuce. Very disappointed won't be coming here again. On top if rude looks the employees give when nicely told they made mistakes

Although we enjoyed our food the wait time was ridiculous. We were told, our pick-up order, would be ready in 15minutes upon arriving we waited 45 minutes. We weren't given any explanation why, they did however, take a couple dollars off our bill. However we would have liked the 15 minute wait more so than saving couple bucks!!

This place is the absolute worst I've attempted to try and eat her 3 times now with no luck the first time they decided to close early the second time I tried to call ahead to make an order for pickup but their phone just goes straight to busy my third and final attempt you walk in the front door and you stand there for 15 minutes and no one ever comes out the back.

We live in WV and we were here for a job , I'm Latina and I know about Central America and Mexican food . Let me tell you I love the food at this restaurant, we visit very expensive Mexican restaurant and not even close to the flavor , this little restaurant owned by a Indian family is a delicious Mexican restaurant. I was happy with our meal and drinks . This man works hard since people don't want to work he does everything in the restaurant and have a smile all the time for his customers.

Los Patrones 2 is a great restaurant. It is better than it's Kilmarnock VA counterpart. The food is to die for and the staff is great. I will revisit many times.
