I went here after coming from the Fairfax City area where there are some great bagel spots. The place itself looked great on the inside and the staff was very welcoming. I ordered what I thought looked good, but when it came out, it didn't smell great, and tasted a little off. The bagel itself SEEMED great, but whatever was on it disappointed me. I will be going to Main Street Bagel instead.

I tried a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese here one time on uber eats as an add-on order and it was really good. One of the better bagels and cream cheese I've had from anywhere. On another occasion though, I placed an early morning order here via uber eats and it was really bad. The bagels were really tough and hard, so I'm not sure if they were fresh bagels, or bagels from the night before. They were out of stock of a french toast bagel I ordered, and replaced it with an egg bagel, which is significantly cheaper and not a specialty bagel, but they did not refund the difference. Also I had ordered a cinnamon apple bagel and they gave me a cinnamon raisin bagel instead. Even the print out receipt on the order said cinnamon raisin, but if I go into my uber eats order history it states cinnamon apple just like I ordered. So it looks like there could be some technical issues where they have cinnamon apple bagels listed on uber eats menu but if you order it their in-store system will automatically change it to cinnamon raisin. I had no desire to eat a cinnamon raisin bagel because it's something I can get from any bagel place. Cinnamon apple is a much less common flavor. Also their blueberry bagel appears to be a plain bagel with real blueberry chunks mixed throughout. The strawberry bagel though, is totally smooth looking like a plain bagel but just has a pink color. The strawberry one appears to be using flavoring instead of real strawberries. It tastes fine otherwise. I would not order from here again because of being given the wrong flavor, charged an incorrect amount, and being given very hardened, dry bagels. If you get lucky and get a fresh bagel, the blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese is the best one.

I went during off-peak hours. I saw a couple of reviews comparing these to NYC bagels, so I thought I'd give it a try. They have a wide selection of bagels and shmears (no vegan options). I'd say they're decent bagels in comparison to the "competition" of the area (not that much competition in NoVA imo), but definitely would not compare these to NYC bagels. The "skin" of the bagel is a much tougher and the filling a lot more dense (I could immediately tell when picking them up and confirmed when I cut it open). But again in comparison to the local competition of bagels, these are decent bagels with variety.

Burke doesn’t have many bagel options. Chesapeake offers a wide variety of bagels and I’ve never left unhappy with my order. The staff is friendly and nice, however, they only have six people working and sometimes the line is to the door. Food comes out of order. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes and other times I’m waiting for 30, which can be frustrating. Expect to wait on the weekends. Also, this place could use a major renovation. I’ll continue to keep coming here, but could use some revamping for sure.

First time here, the service guy up front was very nice, suggesting good options for beagles. Two different beagles were tasted, blueberry bagel with almond and honey cream cheese the other one was cinnamon bagel with almond and honed cream cheese. Both were really delicious, the bagel (bread) texture was like it came out of the oven. Definitely coming back to taste all bagels from the variety they have.

Service is the worst there are 6 workers behind the counter orders are being filled out of order. Getting two bagels not even toasted and I’m waiting 30 minutes. Not the first time.

Since there aren't too many bagel places around, we decided to try Chesapeake Bagel Bakery. The customer service was great, from the gentleman giving specific recommendations on what to order and knowing what items they have available. Very friendly staff. I will definitely be returning again!

Best bagels in the area. Always fresh. Sometimes they put a little too much butter on for my taste, but if you ask for "light" butter, they get it just right. Highly recommended.
