The best hamburger I’ve ever had in my life and that covers a lot of burgers. The fries were also delicious, as was the homemade ranch and burger sauce. It was an amazing lunch. If you are in Cape Charles, this place is a must.

Went there on Valentine's day with friends from out of state. Server was very pleasant until we told her about all the cartilage we had to pick out of our soup and crab cakes. We told her in a nice way. The food had excellent flavor but till we were done picking out the cartilage, everything was cold. Her attitude completely changed. She never came back and asked if we wanted more alcohol. It was like she couldn't wait to get us out of there. Her name was Katie. We've eaten there many times as we are locals but won't do crab cakes again nor have her as a server. It was like they removed the legs, outer shell and lungs and then threw everything in a blender. End result was about 3 tablespoons of pieces of cartilage for 2 crab cakes.

We stopped by for a late lunch while traveling through the area. AJ’s will be our place to eat whenever we are near again. The service was excellent, the smashburgers delicious and the atmosphere there was amazing. We travel by often and we’re looking forward to our next visit.
One star because of the short haired man hater they have at the bar. Most horrible experience if your a male. This person was was so rude and unhospitable. Definitely shouldn't be working behind a bar.
