This is a known local Fav for dinner!

If you are a Cape Charles tourist, you need to book a reservation here "now" before you arrive in Cape Charles, or as soon as you read this as the restaurant has a very limited number of tables.

Ambrogia is basically a refined dining experience served with a " respectful family-like laid-back Cape Charles candor."

In other words, with a limited number of tables, the staff and kitchen are very attentive, accommodating and friendly.

Okay, here are some of the unique attributes of this wonderful restaurant:
-The menu constantly changes
-You really should make a reservation ahead of time; especially if you have any dietary issues because, if you state dietary issues to Ambrogia in your reservation, they will absolutely accommodate; I can say so first hand; in this case I requested lactose intolerant; and look at my 5 star ratings
-I believe that, once in a while, you might get lucky with a walk in, but, seriously, believe making a reservation assures the best experience.
-You will be comfortable here whether you dress up or dress casual; but would be respectful and not, errr, too casual?
-ORDER THE SCALLOPS; Ambrogia prepares the best Scallops in Cape Charles! Part of me wishes Ambrogia would offer the scallops as an appetizer for sharing as, once you have ordered the scallops, this is absolutely a FOMO dish that makes it difficult to order any other wonderful entre the next time you visit.

In closing, Enjoy! Oh, and perhaps order the scallops and another entre as a share; so you can experience all together as a couple?

This restaurant is fantastic!! The owner is Italian and her food is the best I’ve ever had. Our dinner was nothing short of spectacular. From the salad and homemade focaccia bread to the homemade pasta - excellent!!!! You will not be disappointed! We will be back!!

From start to finish, our experience at Ambrogia Cafe was phenomenal. The service, food, and atmosphere were all top notch. My wife had a wonderful birthday dinner and we appreciate the care and attention we received while dining here. 5/5

Last night, my cousin and I treated ourselves to the loveliest dinner of lovely sea bass wrapped in fresh herbs. As we waited for the Seabass to be thoroughly cooked, we enjoyed fresh figs, and a lovely soft delicate Burrata cheese. The setting was delightful as we arrivived before the rush-hour in Cape Charles evening dinner time! The owner came to greet us with a smile and pride in her establishment as should be. I will make this one of my go to places in Cape Charles, Virginia.
Don’t miss it !! you will get your money’s worth.

This is a sad excuse for fine dining in a town that has none. Embarrassing pricing - not only for the portions - but the flavors are nothing special. Poor atmosphere and decor. Waiter forgot to put in one of our $35 entrees and only asked if it was “worth the wait?” We were not compensated for this mistake. We were also told that they were out of halibut only for a table to be seated behind us and offered “reserved” halibut when we were nearly done with our meal. I guess it doesn’t matter if you make a reservation months in advance. Skip this place and go anywhere else in cape Charles for the same quality of food and a much more affordable price

We had the "Special Board" which was the most amazing blend of meats, cheeses, and grilled vegetables. Also fresh figs with prosciutto and balsamic drizzle. ALL so good!
Then, I had the whole branzino (I order this whenever it's offered on the menu) and it was the best I ever had!
My husband got the fettuccine with pork ragu, and it was to die for!
Topped it all off with espressos and a special tiramisu with pistachios.
Truly a magical dinner.
If you are in Cape Charles, Ambrosia cannot be missed!

We had a party of 9 with reservations. 2 of our party were less than 6 years old. They were exceptionally well behaved and even complimented by other patrons. We also had them depart with an older sibling early for our convenience. We were treated as if they were uncontrollable and caused a huge mess. The person that appeared to be the owner was very loud as our kids left the table saying they had made a HUGE MESS (when we saw 2 pieces of pasta in the floor). She was exceptionally rude. The food was great, we spent $700 for the meal. It was a huge disappointment as the owner was so rude. We will never show up again and will not recommend to our friends. (Our specific server was great, but unfortunately she could not overcome the ambiance created by the “owner”). If they do not want kids to show up, they should state that and not make them/us feel like they are second class citizens.

We had the most amazing meal and experience at Ambrogia. The owner, Cristina, was so kind and welcoming and her food was fantastic!!! We are in Cape Charles visiting friends and they couldn’t wait to take us to their favorite place and it did not disappoint!!!!

During my getaway to Cape Charles, the owner's enthusiasm at Ambrogia Caffé & Enoteca immediately charmed me. However, this positive first impression wasn't enough to make up for the shortcomings of the culinary experience that followed.

Despite prices that suggest a refined cuisine, the dishes served struggle to justify their cost. One detail that particularly struck me: the wine, a central element of an enoteca, was presented to me in a mere water glass, diminishing the expected oenological experience.

The menu, although regularly updated, seems to lack that touch of originality and finesse that characterizes great Italian cuisine. The repetitive use of the same ingredients, such as spinach serving both as an appetizer and a side, betrays a lack of attention to detail.

My pasta dish, far from the legendary al dente, turned out to be a sticky mass, disappointing for a restaurant that claims to be an ambassador of Italian gastronomy.

In conclusion, while the warm welcome is undeniable, it fails to cover up the dire need for a deep culinary revision. I hope these constructive observations will contribute to raising the overall quality of Ambrogia Caffé & Enoteca, so that the promised taste journey becomes a reality.?️??

I’ve never visited Italy - but after dinner at Ambrogia, I have a very good idea what it must be like. From the moment we walked in the door, Cristina and her team made us feel like we had been invited into their home. Our appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all delicious, and everything was obviously made in-house. There is a carefully curated wine list, and the suggested pairings we enjoyed with our meals were spot-on. Next time we visit Cape Charles - and that trip will be sooner than later - we will be back for another excellent meal.
