Absolutely sublime. Best Italian restaurant I have ever been to in the US. It tastes like you're in Italy.

The space is charming, intimate and communal. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely happy to be serving guests.

A perfect little restaurant in the little part of heaven that is Cape Charles.

Wow! A true taste of Italy in Cape Charles! Brunch has a nice selection of fritata, uova alla carbonara, crepes, paninis, and more.
I admit to being am an espresso snob. The espresso here is just as good as if you were on the Via Veneto or at Guiseppi’s Bar in Milan.
I highly recommend this Caffé & Enoteca.
The Italian wine list is extensive and very interesting.
Pasta made on the premises.
Try it if you like Italian food. If you are unsure, try it, you’ll like it!

A wonderful evening! We knew to expect a limited menu and an expectation to share courses before our arrival. Once we established with our server that we anticipated a relaxed evening meal, we had a fantastic experience. The olives introduced us to a red olive that had a slightly smoky flavor which paired beautifully with the cheeses from the designated cheese board, but I wish that two of the 4 cheeses had been given time to warm up. Overall, the portions allowed for easy sharing and the flavors were amazing.

My fiancé and I had brunch here during our vacation, and were so pleased with our meal. The food was delicious, well seasoned, and made with real ingredients. The crepes in particular were delicious. The service was excellent, and the staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back!!

Very fancy restaurant, me and my fancy boyfriend had a fancy dinner. Amazing fettuccine and risotto, scallops were good too, portions could be better, but the taste and service made up for that.

I love this little Italian restaurant and have eaten here a number of times for dinner. I believe on Sundays they also have brunch.

It's small inside so a reservation is your best bet if you want to be sure they can accommodate you. The menu is often changing based upon what is in season and locally available.

The owner is Italian and takes a lot of pride in the food and establishment, often coming to every table to speak to everyone.

Highly recommend this place. The pasta is made in-house and the fish is fresh. Their desserts are a MUST!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here this year and haven’t stopped talking about it since! It was a world class meal in an intimate and friendly atmosphere with unmatched service. We put it in our top 3 dining experiences ever- with the other 2 being in Paris! Having this experience in such a welcoming and lovely quiet beach town makes it all the better. I especially recommend following the wine suggestions and trying something new. We cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to come back!

The place is very nice,
but the waitress is a pest.

The service was terrible.
She looked at us with discrimination.

Bad place.

If you find yourself visiting the Town of Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, definitely try to grab a reservation at Ambrogia for Saturday or Sunday brunch or dinner Tuesday through Saturday. This gem is owned and expertly operated by a lovely, vivacious woman from Milan and the weekly menus feature hand crafted pastas and delicious seafoods, featuring fresh produce from the region. Each dish is true to Italy and the experience offers appetizers, first and second courses, to die for desserts and delicious coffees. Each dish comes with a libation recommendation and honestly, the only problem is deciding what to have. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to dine here with some frequency and have never left hungry or unsatisfied in any way. Prepare for being welcomed like a member of the family! Tables book quickly, so do make plans in time to get one.

Ambrogia is our go-to restaurant in Cape Charles. The food is wonderful, the ambiance is lovely. We have been there many times and always have a sensational experience. Their seafood and scallops are to die for, and it's a restaurant where I look forward to EVERYTHING. The appetizers, the main course(s), dessert, coffee... you even get your choice of what type of water you want! When we go to Ambrogia we make sure to have our appetites because we know we are going to be ordering a bit of everything! There are suggested wine pairings that are always perfect, there is an Italian beer my husband and I love... I could just keep going. Thank you for making Cape Charles even more amazing.

I was on a trip up to Exmore coming from North Carolina and desired to stop by Cape Charles for a quick bite to eat. I walked in and was greeted by a very rude server, she said that if I didn’t have a reservation that it would be very hard to be seated but the place was completely empty. I politely told her that I was in a bit of a rush and that I didn’t understand why I couldn’t be seated and she was so upset for no reason! Once I finally got seated after lots of trouble I ordered some pasta because I thought it wouldn’t take too long to come out due to the empty restaurant. I ordered the pasta with one small alteration and I was instantly hammered on because “it doesn’t taste good if you change it”. I was so ticked off but I was not in the mood to get in an argument so I just let them make it the way they said would be best. When I finally did get the pasta it was a ridiculously tiny portion and it was crazy expensive. Once I arrived I was aware of the high prices but I expected at least double the portion provided. The pasta wasn’t even that good! It was a very basic dish and I feel as though even I (a very minimally experienced chef) could do way better. More recently I went to the place pane e vino across the street and it was so much better! Although my experience was a few months ago I feel as though an experience like mine is very hard to make up for. I would give this place a zero out of five if I could. Not only because of the food, but mainly because of the TERRIBLE service. I will not be coming here ever again!

The wine selection is very bottom shelf. The portions were so very small that it would only feed a pigeon and the price!!! Don’t even get me started, it was outrageously expensive and the food was so bland. I would say overall it was an awful experience and I would never go back.
