Cape Charles Coffee House

I normally find Google reviews quite accurate but the 4.2 throws me in a tailspin. This place is wonderful. Whoelsome food that is freshly cooked. Real living fresh food, tiny real blueberries, I'm just smitten about the fresh egg on my BLT sandwich. Very happy with my food very happy how everything is non repetitive, ooked with pride.
Also the old railroad row house look is quite cool!!

Love love love this cute coffee house. The wait staff are fantastic, food great, and atmosphere is fabulous. It encompasses the spirit of Cape Charles. Amy is always delightful wi the our baby. Try the BELT!

Do you really need 1 hour to cook some egg and sausage? This is ridiculous. Also this town is extremely not tourist friendly. The only purpose of their police department is to set up traffic traps and issue parking ticket. This town is a disgrace. Avoid at all costs.

I judged the place based off of pictures, never looked at the reviews. But it is definitely understaffed. We walked in and ask the batista if you wait to be seated and she said to sit anywhere and a waitress will be with you. We sat at the only open table as they were quite busy. Most people seemed to come in, get coffee to go, then leave. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for a waitress to even give us menus and then another 15 to 20 minutes for a different waitress to ask us for our drinks and if we were ready to order, which we of course were. Then we ordered, and I saw people come in, order and get their food before ours had even come out. Our food came out, we had to ask for silverware. Very understaffed place and the poor waiter Jeffrey was apologizing for things that weren't even his fault, he had refilled our drinks for us and gotten us the forgotten silverware. Wish we could have just tipped him. Would not recommend. The food was average, the coffee was in pretty great and the fresh fruit was the best part. The service kills the whole place. I'd recommend getting a coffee to go if anything...

Neat coffee shop. Love the interior. Our waitress was friendly and the service was fast. Prices were reasonable and food was great. The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms smelled and there was no toilet paper In the womens bathroom. But other than that it was a great experience and we will defin be back.

On vacation went to this coffer house for breakfast. It was busy we did get seated quickly. The building is beautiful. The service was friendly professional. The food was delicious.

The service was terrible and we were there at a slow time with plenty of staff on hand. The food is overpriced and just ok. Our waitress forgot half of what we ordered and never apologized. The building is so beautiful and the place has so much potential but the atmosphere was very weird-no music playing, staff that looked like don’t want to to be there etc. Judging by recent reviews this place seems to be having some issues. We ordered simple things-just a couple of bfast sandwiches and coffees. Sadly, we don’t recommend it.

The food was fine but the restaurant is so understaffed it is uncomfortable to be there. We never got some of the items we requested (cream for coffee and ice waters). They won’t let you order at the counter, but it takes 10+ minutes to even be greeted at your table. Waitress was miserable - managing 12+ tables with only one person helping run food. It honestly felt like we were a burden to be there. I felt so bad for her. They need at least 3 wait staff for this sized establishment. I won’t come back and would feel awkward recommending it to anyone.

This place is pretty cool. They have a lot of items on display to showcase it's history and have a lovely selection of food. We went for breakfast and loved it!

Vegetarian options: They have pancakes, eggs and fruit. If you're vegetarian, you can eat here easily.

Went to this place today and two of the employees got in a physical altercation. The male made remarks stating he was going to take care of the issue and he had something for her and would be back in 3 minutes (while making gun motions with his hands). The owner or manager that was there did not lock the building, or clear guests out, or anything to keep customers safe. No one was able to eat because the threat of the employee coming back but the manager had another man (who said he was just a frequent guest) passing out our bills for us to pay. So my table paid almost $50 and could either stay and hope the employee really didn't come back or leave our food. We left and went to a coffee shop, walked back passed to go to our car and the place was finally closed.

I hate to leave a bad review but I want others to be aware. The food and coffee was good- so worth it in that sense. But the service was not good because of low staffing. There was only one server and helper for 12+ tables (unheard of), it took atleast 20 minutes to be greeted at our table. In addition to the slow service, we were sweating bullets because the A/C was minimal. My families food arrived 10 minutes prior to mine- at one point the helper asked if we were ok and I said I’m still waiting on mine- he went back to the kitchen and then came back and said it will be right up and apologized. I’m not confident it was ever put in and took much longer to come out.
Again, overall the food and coffee were good but service needs improvement and it was hot, maybe it was a one-off experience.

It has the opportunity to be great, but it just wasn’t. There was no host, we grabbed our own menus, and there was no silverware. The food was good enough. The waiters and waitresses didn’t seem to have a handle on things.
