I went to Cowlicks Creamery and got one scoop of ice cream in a cone. Except… there was literally no ice cream in the cone—just a scoop plopped on top like they were balancing it for a circus act. When I went back inside to point out there was nothing in the cone, they gave me a blank, almost annoyed stare, acted like I was the problem, and then actually laughed when I walked out. I have never once been to an hand dipped ice cream place and received a sad cone like this. Unprofessional, rude, and apparently proud of serving half-empty cones. Save your money and go to Brown Dog, or anywhere else that takes customer service—and basic ice cream scooping—seriously.

Delicious ice cream. Would give a 4.5 for limited flavor options BUT I enjoyed it and the waffle cones were fresh and tasty. The caramel crunch ice cream has biscoff cookies in it which was top notch paired with vanilla. Price is a little steep but expected for the area. Nice spot!

It was good - they had 4 Italian ice flavors and 2 dairy free options. The lady told me they always have a dairy free option (they had vanilla and another flavor). They also have gluten free cones available.

Every time you go the pancake machine is “broken” yet they have a sold out sign on the board. Yet another trip and the pancake machine has been “broken” for 6 months according to employee and the sign reads sold out. Not a very good business model. And if the person who is supposed to fix the machine can’t, maybe find someone else….

Best ice cream in town! Great employees with fantastic service! We are new residents in town. They quickly knew our standard order and greeted us like family! They even made a custom flavor with our son, Grant’s Grinds Coffee Pecan. They may be newer in town too, but they’ve quickly earned the title of best ice cream shop in town! Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is must if you are in the Cape Charles area! It is the freshest ice cream I have ever tasted. They are also allergy friendly if you let them know and will accommodate you if needed!! My husband has a peanut allergy and the owner (I think) made him a fresh batch of ice cream right in front of us. It was truly amazing. The staff is so friendly. I highly recommend Cowlick’s Creamery!!!

Buyer beware. The sign on the wall said $5.25 for two dips. I ordered two dips in a waffle cone, no toppings or anything else extra. The check out girl said my charge was $13.23, so without thinking I gave her a $10 plus a $5. As she placed my money in the cash drawer however, I asked how did it come to $13.25 when the sign on the wall say $5.25 for two dips? She casually said the owner had changed the prices but had not yet changed the sign. She then just starred at me and did not offer or give me change for my $15 payment. I walked out stunned. I wish I had the wherewithal to hand the cone back and ask for my money back. It doesn’t matter how good anything else was when you feel the service and/or business ethics were totally inappropriate. This site makes you give at least one star but honestly zero stars from me.
I stand by my review. It is an accurate description of my experience. Upon seeing the owner's response to my review, I called and asked to speak to the owner. I left my number but never received a call back.

Very creamy and yummy ice cream. Good selection, cute decor, friendly and helpful staff. I only like small amounts of ice cream at a time (I know, I'm broken), and I usually have trouble getting places to give me a small portion (even if I pay full) so I don't have to throw it away and they gave me a kiddie cone that was PERFECT! Without any hassle. Plus love the COWch.

I typically don't like talking bad about places, especially small local businesses, but when I went here with my family, my wife commented "They didn't like you." The place is pretty nice and the food is OK, but I just got the weirdest feeling from the staff. When going to small businesses I will ask what is local (as a lot of the times businesses will make a few items there and purchase others outside) and the woman working there said "everything here is made here," in a tone that felt like "F-U, man." I explained I wasn't from there and wouldn't know these things, which was met with a "pfft" from the woman. My strawberry milkshake (which I was told is popular) was good, so for that I give the place a good food rating, but overall, I didn't get a good feeling here.
