Lovely hotel. The staff seems stressed because they have an event going on tonight. It was a bit awkward walking into the setup with them getting ready for the wedding. There is an older woman who works at the hotel who doesn't seem to like people or being in the service industry. I couldn't even 'kill her with kindness' to lighten her mood. Anyway, that didn't matter, I was on vacation. The hotel is beautifully decorated with each room having a shared balcony. I have to admit it could have been awkward but the people sharing our balcony were nice. This was a peaceful getaway after a crazy year, and I was grateful. We ate here twice and the food was good. Breakfast one morning in our room with bengiets and a smoked salmon board, and lunch one day with a Mediterranean salad and a shrimp Louie croissant. Birth were good. We also tried their bloody Mary's, which were nice The room was cozy, the bed super comfortable and we took full advantage of the lookout at the top of the hotel and the balcony attached to our room. I'll definitely be back and look forward to another visit.

This place is a must try. Everything about our experience was excellent. My wife and I met the chef outside just before opening and she was so kind. When we sat down she personally brought out us a complimentary coffee cake with my cappuccino was the best I’ve ever had - buttery, crisp, and soft! We ordered the beignets and Huevos Rancheros to share, which they gave VERY generous portions. The picture was only half, as they split the dish onto two different plates. We will definitely be back!

We didn't have time to stop inside but it was beautifully decorated and had delicious aromas wafting from its entrance! It looks so cozy inside that we're thinking of stopping by next time we are up here! They had the lights and Christmas decor on full display, so it definitely beckons anyone walking by to stop in out of the cold and warm up inside with some coffee, tea, and charcuterie!!

Decided to check out this place on our last day here in Cape Charles. Location is great especially if you are sitting outside. Water views and it is close to the beach. Service was good but unfortunately we waited over 45 minutes to get our food. There were 2 other tables that sat down after us and got their food much quicker. Food was great. Tried their croissant egg sandwich, breakfast bowl, and crepes. Very tasty. I had to knock down a star because of the wait time and other tables getting their food faster than us.

This is a beautifully renovated hotel located next to the Cape Charles beach head. There are many charming nooks & quiet spaces in this hotel ( Check out the widow's walk at sunset for a breathtaking view!) Their restaurant serves the best breakfast/brunch in town. Tiffany and her staff are wonderful. They know the area well and make great recommendations.
This is a breathtakingly beautiful hotel in what I think is the best location of Cape Charles. Views from the private porches really show off the Chesapeake. The parlor and sitting areas are tastefully decorated and even include period correct music softly emanating through the areas. We were greeted by our lovely host Nikki who was extremely pleasant and helpful. She showed us up to our impeccably clean room, that was well decorated with a comfortable bed, stocked bathroom (with robes), and TV with all of the channels we could want. In the morning we drank the included luxurious coffee from the Nespresso machine in the shared kitchen, then journeyed upstairs to the windows walk. You HAVE to make this part of your stay. There we read som of the local coffee table books, and marveled in the beauty of the views. Afterwards we used some of the provided bicycles, and toured the town. It was really a magical experience. If all of that isn't enough, a couple of days later I was contacted by Tiffany, and she told me that I had left some clothes in our room, offering to mail them to me. I was so appreciative and offered to Venmo money to cover the cost and troubles. She politely declined and said that she would take care of it without charge. The beauty of Cape Charles and the Northampton Hotel brought me to visit this area, but the overwhelming kindness and customer service has made me a customer for life. I look forward to my next visit!

My girlfriend and I spent a Christmas weekend in Cape Charles and stayed at The Northhampton. We absolutely loved this hotel. The building is incredible. It’s both historical and beautifully renovated with fantastic views from a huge porch attached to gorgeous rooms. Tiffany and the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was outstanding. HIGHLY recommend a weekend at The Northhampton. We will absolutely be back.

My husband and I came here on a mini moon straight from our wedding weekend. It was the most charming, vintage yet modern boutique hotel. We could not have asked for anything more relaxing to process a busy weekend. We were greeted with chilled rose, and loved being across the street from the beach. The owner has bikes and beach chairs to borrow around back, and was extremely helpful and kind. The best part of all was the breakfast however, which was superb and reasonably priced. Breakfast is offered on your porch, which we took advantage of both days. We would love to return, even if just for the food !
