The Ruby Salt raw oysters are fantastic. How local? The oysters and Cherrystone clams are raised within sight of the dining room, in Chesapeake Bay. The she crab soup and French fries also tops.
Megan was awesome! We are from Richmond and will be back for sure because of her alone! She took great care of my 8 top and did a great job

Overall, the dining experience was disappointing. The food was fine but didn’t justify the price. Additionally, there was at least a thirty minute wait for the check after finishing the meal. The restaurant appears to be understaffed. The staff was friendly and did their best to accommodate.

When we were seated it took 15 minutes to receive water. After another 10 minutes we ordered drinks and a dozen oysters. When we did receive our oyster there were shell fragments and only 11 oysters, we did talk to another diner and they said they were also shorted an oyster. Hoping that the main course would redeem itself but it did not by any means. My wife had the scallops and risotto which was very watery and tasteless especially for the price point. I ordered the broiled crab cakes with rice and vegetables. The crabcakes were very dry and had waaay too much mustard, the vegetables were frozen green beans and the rice was tasteless. Terrible experience for a restaurant with such a beautiful location.

there was literally nothing
my kid ordered TWO kids meals and he was still hungry
my other kid ordered the chicken franceswas and it looked like a soup
even the fish looked like they didn’t want to be here it was miserable. Perchance.
i would give you 1 stars but one of the waitresses was a baddie
Kid-friendliness: As i stated before, my kids were still hungry. i have a poop fetish. They did have a variety of kid’s meals, like the Chicken Tenders and Mac N Cheese.

We were a table of 15, 9 adults/6 kids, last night out before vacation ends, with a reservation at 6:45pm on August 9th, 2024. The restaurant was busy but not fully packed. We were seated right away but it took the staff almost an hour to take our drink order. We watched other groups be seated, ordered drinks and food right away. We didn’t receive the bread basket until 8:25pm and that was AFTER someone from our party asked to see a manager. When we asked to see a manager, the hostess with an attitude said they our food was coming out and he will be out to talk to us after that. At this point, everyone was hungry and annoyed, drinks emptied, kids were antsy, still no manager, although a man in a blue polo with EarPods came out to the hostess station, looked over at our table several times while talking to hostess and avoided us. At the time we weren’t sure who the manager was because surely a MANAGER wouldn’t avoid speaking to a guest when requested, we thought anyway but your manager did. Food finally came out at 8:35pm, manager still avoided us and waitress finally got all the refills. Our food was okay, but the seared scallops looked like an appetizer, the fish portions that others got were so small, unless you got one of their fried basket because the fries took up majority of the plate and the overall appearance of dishes were poorly executed. Still no manager even though he was now on the floor speaking to other guest, still avoiding our table. We asked for the bill 15 minutes after the food was delivered since everyone was finished, which was over $750 with gratuity included. That came quickly because the restaurant was closed. Still no manager. So we paid, because we’re not the type of group to make a scene. Walking out, the multiple people behind the hostess station that were there ALL NIGHT, magically disappeared when our grouped walked by. However, one of us decided to go back in, this was AFTER we walked out and they locked the doors. She knocked and could see people but no one came to the door. Finally, another patron came to leave, and let her in. She requested the manager again. Finally, he came out, seemed annoyed, and said he wasn’t making excuses but that’s all he did. Nothing was really said except they ran out of large dishes for the scallops so they plated them on a smaller dish. He just listened and did nothing. Extremely poor manager skills who basically didn’t care what we had to say, especially since we already paid and they were closing. We were really disappointed because it was our last night of vacation and we were really looking forward to a nice dinner out as a group. We left the restaurant at 9:30pm. Definitely do not recommend unless you have the patience of a saint, 4 hours of your life, and like to pay a lot of money for small portions of okay food.
Food was excellent after we waited 2.5 hours for it to arrive… had no refills on any of our drinks at that time either. Worst service I’ve ever had had barely no menu items available either
