Our favorite restaurant on the shore. Great atmosphere, food and service. Always a pleasure to have Mike serve us. Thank you!

We have been coming to the oyster farm for years now and it makes me so sad to see all these bad reviews. We just ate here tonight, the service was great and the food was fantastic. Mike our server (who we ask for everytime) is always super friendly and on point.. thanks for the great service Mike!

We waited a good 10 mins to be acknowledged by the waiter. He then tried to sell us dessert before we had even gotten our meal. He never once followed up after our meal or offered us a second round of drinks.
Food was great; service, not great.

Such a beautiful place but terrible service. It took us over an hour to get our food and everything came out cold. The waitress never returned and didn't even give us silverware. We finally got silverware but had no condiments. I don't generally complain but felt compelled to except no one was around to voice my concern. The fries were rubbery, the fish sandwich was dry and cold. The tacos and kids meal were ok but still cold. I don't understand how if the food was ready it wasn't brought to my table. I'd come back for drinks and a view but I hope this beautiful place improves on their service and food quality.

It took 2 hours to get our food. Manager said they are running short staffed. They should not take our reservations .

Very loud drummer playing near our table. Couldn't have any conversation. Waitress had too many tables.

We have no idea if the food was any good or not. We made a reservation for my wife's birthday and arrived early. We asked if we could be seated early and the hostess mumbled some excuse that we could not which was not a big deal so we went to the bar to wait. It took awhile till we were acknowledged but we got our drinks finally which were good. As we were waiting I noticed a musician setting up inside. We did not know there would be live music as it was not listed on the website. We are not fans while dining so we asked if we could be seated outside away from the music. Again there was some mumbled excuse about not being able to put us outside even though we saw several empty tables. When we were seated the hostess put us right in front of the musician after we had just told her we wanted to be no where near the music. We went back to the bar paid for our drinks and left. There were several other tables throughout the restaurant we could have been seated at. This was the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant that we never actually ate in. The customer service was just appalling. If we are ever in the area again we will not even consider going here.

I want the owner of this restaurant, who’s name is Bob I think, to really take a look at and soak in what the public is saying about this place now. Something has changed, and that is management, which trickles down to who your new manager is hiring and how things are being handled overall. Your reviews are going downhill in direct correlation with the subpar and actually pretty offensive service. Will not return, along with my entire family, none of us will ever return or recommend this place. If anyone asks us about this place we will be sure to inform them that it is not worthy of a visit.
The hostess from Saturday evening needs a lesson in customer service and greeting people properly, maybe she would be better suited to work at a fast food drive thru window, because that’s the rude attitude she was giving. She appeared angry at us for just walking in the door for our reservation…. Not sure what her problem was exactly but that is not someone you want to be customer facing AT ALL. We complained to the manager who only seemed to back her up and pull her aside for a moment probably to make it appear like he cared but he really didn’t seem to give a crap. She stared at our table angrily for most of the night after that. Every time we looked that way she was staring holes through our heads.
Bob: please do us all a favor and fix this. We used to love this restaurant, the views are spectacular and the building is lovely. Now it feels like it’s something with so much potential that has been thrown down the garbage shoot. It’s like a McDonalds by the water, where you can’t even get a straw or utensils for some reason but at least there’s a view, right?! Please please look into some of the newer staff. One guy working there was walking around with AirPods in, which we realized after he ignored us when we asked him for help getting some utensils. You are going to lose so much money in the long run if your place becomes known as the one with terrible service, and completely overpriced for the low quality food being served.
I think most people would sacrifice the great views and go somewhere else where the service and food are great. The great views are not enough to help this place with how bad the experience was. The seafood used to be soo good here so what the heck happened?! It was sooo dry and bland tasting I was shocked at the drastic drop in food quality here. The food your staff is serving is not worthy of the $40 + price tag per plate that we paid.
So many things went wrong. DO something about it! Responding to reviews that you’re sorry about the experience and that you’ll address it with your team is not enough because obviously nothing has changed even after a couple weeks of 1 star reviews.

Terrible experience. We had reservations, the hostess literally rolled her eyes when we asked if we could sit outside and then she just said no you can’t. There were people outside eating and enjoying the sunset… no explanation at all as to why we couldn’t also sit outside. We payed $235 total and the food sucked to be honest. It was blah, felt like sauce out of a jar. It was cold by the time it got to us. The seafood tasted like frozen crap that was freezer burnt and overcooked. Dry and bland. We spoke to the manager, he told us they are understaffed. Ridiculous, you charge enough money to hire more people. No silverware was on the table, we waited for 45-50 minutes for our food and still there was no silverware on the table. When we asked for silverware while our food was getting even colder than it already was, we were graced with some attitude from a random girl that came up with silverware and gave us a weird face and made excuses “we’ve been rolling silverware as we go”. I will say our server was the only nice person in there. Overall, I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy. It was FREEZING in there as well even with a sweatshirt. Apparently there’s new management that took over recently and I noticed multiple 1 star reviews began recently. I wish I would’ve listened to the reviews and saved my family from a bad experience.

Amazing views. Horrible service by wait staff. Food mediocre at best. A shame for such a physically beautiful location and restaurant. Never returning or recommending.

A nice selection for lunch or dinner while in Cape Charles! Waterfront makes it especially nice.

Very disappointing experience… 5 stars for location, 1 for service.
We wanted to enjoy our last day of vacation here, with some bubbles, local oysters and a nice final meal.
We ordered our bubbles, together with 2 appetizers: oysters and a tuna dish.
Got our bubbles… Our waitress asked if we wanted to put in our mains, which we did, expecting our appetizers to arrive anytime now… but nothing to be seen until our glasses were empty.
We asked again for them, and ordered a bottle of wine since we were out of drinks.
Suddenly our main courses appear.
So we cancelled our appetizers as they seemed to skip them for us anyways… Eventually the wine arrived after my husband already finished his meal.
We also got a very poor excuse why the appetizers didn’t come out before our entrees.
Also, we were the only clients in the restaurant. Can’t imagine what it’s like when it’s actually busy .
On top of that: food was mediocre, no fresh fries… and obviously, we have idea how the oysters are…
Sorry but this was a disaster. So much potential, as the location and views are stunning, which made it even more sad.

We were there for an hour before we received our appetizer. Our waitress never returned to check on us, we had to ask other staff members for what we needed etc. She forgot to put our order in and when we received our food, it was incorrect. Quite pricey, beautiful atmosphere, but the service overshadows the experience. It’s a shame. We will not return.

Make an earlier reservation. Anything after 5:30 and the place is mobbed. Savannah was AWESOME last night with how busy it was and with out chaotic family. Thanks!
