The Farm at 17 South offers delicious food in a friendly atmosphere that feels like home. The menu features favorites such as flounder/crabcake combo, crab cake sandwich, tenders and fries, orange chicken, burgers, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, slaw, and pineapple upside-down cake. The bean burger is scrumptious, and there are options for vegetarians. The restaurant maintains a clean environment with wheelchair accessibility. Outdoor seating provides a nice touch, while the interior has a charming farm-house feel. The food is plentiful and tasty, with specials like ribeye steaks and even borscht, which has received high praise. Some condiments are served in plastic containers, which could be more environmentally friendly. The staff is friendly and efficient, making it a great place for both small and large groups to enjoy seafood and salads. Recent reviews mention homemade pickles, pimento cheese, pickled red onions, and dill ranch with crispy chicken on a seeded fresh roll—seriously delicious, made to order and tailored to preferences. Kids enjoyed the fries, chicken, and salad. Many consider it the best roadside stop around with plans to return. The burgers are praised as being perfect, and the iced tea and fried green tomatoes are hits. Nightingale ice cream sandwiches are also available. The portions are generous, and the seafood platter, crab cakes, and other meals are well-received, often at good prices. Despite some slow service, the young staff is friendly, and the overall experience is worth the trip.
