This is my favorite winery in Virginia. The owners are happy to answer questions and they're very knowledgeable. Carolyn is so friendly and personable. My favorite wines are the Chambourcin and the Bay Blu White Blend, although you really can't go wrong. I have joined the wine club that offers your choice in3 bottles of wine and a party in February May August and November! Can't beat that! Also some local artists like Carolyn offer some handmade souvenirs and crafts...
Caret Cellars has a relaxed atmosphere that puts you at ease as soon as you walk in the door. The Tannat has become my favorite full bodied red. The wine club is an excellent value! I did my first pick-up party yesterday and it surpassed my expectations. Started with charcuterie board of meats, nuts and cheeses, followed by a full lunch and great company. At Caret they make you feel like family - they even took out the china dish ware to serve lunch…the kind your mom saves...
Little cozy gem off the beaten path. Friendly staff and excellent dry wine selection. Rose was delicious. Perfect for a spring or summer with friends and family or on the patio after a hard days work. Had the luck to see a flock of guinea fowl run by when leaving
