Was in the neighborhood running a not-so-fun errand and thought I deserved a treat afterward. I grabbed a hot matcha latte with oat milk to go and WOW was it delicious! Unsweetened, completely smooth, perfectly balanced flavor. I didn't try the soft serve or the delicious-looking shortbread bites *this time* but I'm already planning to return next time I am in Centreville. Seems like a nice place to sit and work or catch up with a friend. Many were there with laptops or chatting with one or two others. Very clean, minimalistic vibe inside but in a warm way. Also seems to be kid-friendly. I will return -- on that note, I wish that my neighborhood in the Union Market area of NE DC had something like this matcha tea house. Thanks to the friendly employees and quick service as well.

I don't recommend this place. They are not friendly to the parents who have a little baby. There's plenty of toilet space but no baby changing station. My husband and I could only change the diaper(no poop) in one corner. They told us do not change the diaper in the public place. Please tell us directly that you are not welcome people who have little baby.

I wondered what would prevent this place from having a full 5 stars, and after reading through them I agree with the points made, but still think its worth the 5 stars! In terms of service, ambience, and product offerings it is all excellent. Personally, I love their soft serves - portions are appropriate for the price point and quality & taste are there. The clean, minimal interior filled with greenery is the perfect vibe to chill or get some work done. In reference to some issues, I would agree with others that parking in the busy plaza can be an issue depending on the day. Seating and space is pretty limited and fills up quickly. And napkins aren't readily available unless you ask for it at the counter. Besides that, I would highly recommend this spot. Especially if you just want a sweet treat to grab and go!

Is it possible for matcha soft serve to be overwhelming match-y? Yes! That’s how it is at the legit-Japanese chain Matcha Maiko Cafe. But the Korean-owned Bôn Tea is able to perfect the flavor. I’m not local but I will drive out (30+ min) here to get their seasonal flavors that blend so flawlessly with their absolute bliss matcha soft serve. Never have I been disappointed from a combo-swirl.

Holy “Yum Yummy” Yum

This place has delicious ice cream and good tea. However, there is not enough space and it is complicated. There is no problem in submitting.

A lovely lively place to spend time with friends and family. We enjoyed the tea and ice cream that we had.

Aesthetic cafe specializing in soft serve, matcha drinks, and coffees! Super cozy & lots of variety in seating, however tables get occupied pretty fast. A con is that you do have to self-sweeten drinks & napkins aren't readily available unless you ask. Pictured: Matcha Latte & Iced latte with Lavender syrup

Love their soft serve ice cream. Always so good. Very cute decor and they prepare the match tea right on the front counter so it was cool to see. They have different soft serve flavor every once in a while so gotta come back to check for sure. Service is always friendly and helpful

Beautiful minimalist space that felt special inside the strip mall. Had a lychee matcha drink called the Midori and it was SO GOOD. Refreshing and flavorful without tasting too sweet or artificial. The barista whisked my matcha to order. Pastries were fun little treats - cheese cookie? Bergamot poppy seed mini muffin? Nomz.

Bon Tea House is a very inviting space to gather and hang out. There is ample seating, and a visit here will make it clear that people like to get together and take their time to enjoy. It is a modest space but I think they make the most of it. The menu isn't expansive but it is focused. I really like their soft serve and have had some lovely flavors, from lychee to warm grain-based teas I hadn't been familiar with. You can check their ig for their current seasonal flavor :-) a cup is actually a good size to share and feel satisfied with a sweet treat.

Came here on a busy Friday Night. Is it just me or is parking really hard to find around this area a lot? Anyways, Bon Tea House features really high-gourmand tea drinks and coffee within a social setting suited for people wanting to sit down and work, or just socially drink with friends on an afternoon/night. I came here looking for some sweets but since it was close to closing ( I came at like 8 PM ) most of the pastries have been bought out. I opted for Matcha instead so I got the Matcha swirl with an ice cream cone and a Matcha Limeade. The misugaru/matcha soft serve wasn't in season but I wish it was something they kept on their menu. I'd love to try that another time. The matcha ice cream was still good and it was smooth. I really think this is a bit strong on the taste but for almost 6 bucks? I'm not complaining that it's still delicious. I think the matcha limeade is what will make me come back. Just the right amount of lime to counter the slight bitterness of the matcha making this a refreshing drink for the summer, or just whenever you finish a huge comforting meal. It was chilled, just make sure you shake it a bit before you drink. When it's not busy I want to come back to try more out. It's just that parking can be hard to find, perhaps I should have gone when it was less busier.

This place is incredible. I really hope they keep the walnut flavor around because it's amazing- it's sad that they rotate the flavors rather than just adding them to the menu. I like knowing what to expect. The guy working the counter was super nice as well!

I travel to eat the matcha and walnut swirl ice cream. The best in town in my opinion, you can taste the matcha but is not overpowering the walnut. it’s sweet but not too sweet. My favorite ice cream combo.

When Bôn first opened in Centreville, I tried the sakura soft serve and wasn't too impressed. However, I recently returned with a friend who loves Bôn and had a delicious Matcha/Walnut Swirl Matcha Affogato! The soft serve flavors were on point, and the matcha was actually pretty strong. I liked it a lot better than other cafes in the area that have overly sweetened matcha. I'm excited to see what flavor soft serve will be featured next month, and definitely want to try the Mitsugaru flavor once it's available again!
