Been here several times. The last 2 times we had young children with us (one for a bday party for 25 people). Evan, the owner was extremely hospitable and accommodating for us. He was willing to make small adjustments to the menu for kids e.g. providing plain tater tots instead of loaded and offered a very reasonable price + generous portion sizes for that, as well as the chicken baskets.

It was nice having the option to use the wall mounted iPads to play songs from YouTube, and able to adjust the overall volume to make it more easy listening for the littles.

We had our little's bday party here based on another kpop demon hunter themed bday review we saw, and the fact we saw other kids (albeit middle school) during the times we were there validated how accommodating and friendly Evan and his staff are. Would def recommend going for a night out with friends. Just make sure you book in advance for weekends since Everytime we've gone it's been a full house.

I hosted a birthday party for a group of 11 to 13 year olds here and every kid said it was the best party they had ever been to! Even the boys were singing! The food was amazing and plentiful. We were able to let the kids hang out and do their thing while we stayed in the front lounge. It was literally a perfect middle school party. Oh, did I mention the price was FABULOUS as well?

Every time I have been here the service and vibe has been nothing short of amazing. The staff is very welcoming and they make you feel like family when you come back the next time. This place is always a great way to celebrate with my friends for any occasion. The food is also amazing but if you like singing karaoke with your friends I highly recommend it!!!

Came in for Karaoke for a friend's birthday. Ordered a few drinks, some tenders and fries and was shocked it was almost $200 - which doesn't include the Karaoke rental. Noticed there were no prices on the menu for drinks, but did not think that a single old-fashion would be $20. Very steep for the lackluster drink I was poured. Was literally maybe 6 oz pour and a fat ice cube. Had a great time singing but many places seem to just slap a twenty dollar bill on every drink now and send it your way. Would come back to sing but that's it.

Something terrible has happened to Lulu The magical dining experience I so enjoyed has been dashed to ruins It's still beautiful and the service was friendly and professional but the choice of food was less than minimal and the size of the portions may have been poured from an eyedropper I had Snapper as the main course and even though the portion was the size of the small plates It was so awful that I could not finish it. Looking around at the packed tables looked like a page from the Emperor's New Clothes with everyone acting as though they hadn't been ripped off

It was a rainy night so Lulu's patio was closed. We sat huddled with other diners in the roofed part of the restaurant, with the lanterns glowing and the patio heaters keeping out the chill. This lent an air of intimacy to our dining, as did the fact that we often ran into the same lovely diners and waitstaff every visit. The maitre d' Nathan remembered my name and that I usually wear a big faux fur jacket. My friend and I ordered the lamb prix fixe, which mean we both also ate artful salads and delicious slices of almond cake. We got there at 6 and practically closed the place down. Also lovely: Alice Walters, looking beautiful and serene, sat at an adjacent table with her friends. Give me a choice for a stylish, lowkey LA dinner and I almost always choose Lulu.

EDIT: The restaurant reached out on their own to provide a refund, which for me signals they care about their guests on a system-wide level, even if my individual experience that night was poor. While I can't get my valentines dinner back, in my eyes they did what they could to make it right after the fact. I've adjusted my overall score from a 2 -> 4 and my service rating from a 2 -> 4. The original review is below: Original Review: Went here for Valentine's Day. Food was disappointing—bland at best and gross at worst. Steak was well-done and tough, lobster was incredibly difficult to cut and chewy. They were out of one of their two appetizers, AND they were out of bread. Not quite sure how that happens for a set menu with no cancellations. No free drink or anything as an apology for running out of everything. Full price was nearly $300 for two people, with one cocktail and an iced tea. Just a terrible value. Perhaps the worst part was that we had to get In-n-out after to fill up, and it tasted better than the actual meal.

What a disappointing meal, especially on Valentine's Day. My celery root soup was bland and lukewarm. The lobster was chewy and badly paired with chalky beans. It was also lukewarm. The crust on the Meyer lemon tart was greasy. Lulu had been one of my favorite restaurants. Alas, I won't be returning, and I'll tell others to avoid it as well. It's such a shame.

The food is much better away from occasions. Very difficult to prepare great food for a sitting of large customers. Your folks tried very hard to make it work and if this were a business persons dinner then great. But we do enjoy dinner or lunch at Lulu.

What a wonderful restaurant! It's in the Hammer Museum, but there's no museum fee. Just go to the second floor and it's a new world. Calm, wonderful menu that varies weekly, fabulous service, lovely wines and non alcoholic drinks. We will definitely be back

Excellent as always. Love the smoked salmon dishes, both the carpaccio (which you should do more often) and the sandwich. Egg mayonnaise is great too. And the deserts are yummyThank you.

It was my first time and came with a friend who knows everyone because of her frequency of dinner and lunches at the place. We came around 11:30am picked a seat that we liked as we wanted to chat. We were served right away about wanting water, questions on the menu (and I had my share as I wanted to make sure that soup didn't have a meat base etc.,). All questions were answered in a very knowledgeable manner. Ordered the potato and leek soup. When it arrived it was the aroma that first captured you. I always worry about soups being too too salty. Not the case here they used other ways to tickle and awaken your taste buds, herb, just dash of creme fraiche and bit of oil. It all flowed together well. I also ordered the farro salad and my friend had the soup and bread (the bread is Clark's bread). The farro salad was at the right temperature not too cold that it muted the taste and not heated to ruin it as a salad. The tables are such that you can talk without others in your conversation or you in theirs. Bring a sweater as you are in a courtyard (they have heaters) and enjoy a wonderful lunch.
