Oriental Express

Today was our first time and last time ordering from Oriental Express. Our order was missing several items (a sauce for one of the meals and an order of egg rolls - we ordered 2 and got 1). In addition, a couple of the food items were stale. We saw a lot of 1 star ratings for this place and we ignored it. I wish we had ordered from China Express as one of my family members suggested.

I usually get my order to go so I can't really say anything about atmosphere other than everyone is extremely kind, efficient, and fast.

Just avoid this place. I was charged for the order but the order did not go through the system. Guy barely spoke english and I told him that I can go over to show the charges on my bank app. He just told me to call the bank and did not provide any resolution. Worst customer service, avoid at all cost.

I was sad to find out most of the mock recipes had to be made with egg. The only one I was told that wasn’t is the Mock Hunan chicken. I decided to just get vegetable fried rice with garlic sauce

I ordered the gen massage chicken lunch special with the wonton soup and spring roll. I have had Chinese food for all up and down the East Coast and this is by far at the top of the list.

Vegan options with the mock meats are so good. Even if we get delivery the food is always steaming hot. Our go-to in the area.

We get take out, always. It is PRICEY but the food is not overly oily like some chinese restaurant food is, and the meals seems fresh, good quality, and very flavorful with good spicing (and the food is always nice and stove hot). So maybe it's worth the extra $? We order from them regularly, so it appears we think so!

Vegetarian options: We are vegans and get the mock hunan beef and chicken and steamed veg, and love these dishes. Other family are not vegetarian so they choose from the meat menu and enjoy those dishes.

I got the vegetable delight lunch special. They were very accommodating, the fried rice typically has egg but they made it without egg for me. The vegetables tasted very fresh and cooked perfectly. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-19

Food can be good when they get your order right, but I have consistently gotten the wrong order. Double check everything when you get it, and never order delivery

Lady in there sucks. I kindly asked for more sauce for my food. So stingy with sauce, what is 1 packet of duck sauce gonna do for $26 worth of food? Very rude and gave me an attitude when handing my food. Won’t order here again.

I was very excited to try this place and really enjoyed my mock orange chicken. However, it was so good that I became suspicious and when I called to ask them what ingredients they used, they confirmed they use egg with all their mock healthy meals ingredients. If you’re vegan, that’s not going to work so well.  Updated from previous review on 2024-05-22

We’ve been looking for a Chinese takeout place, and this place was great! We ordered the chicken lomein, sesame chicken, crispy beef, and general tso. All were great. The only “negative” comment I have is that it was a bit pricey for Chinese takeout. But, we’d order again!

So, this isn't a restaurant that one would typically dine at, but ordering for carry out or delivery is highly recommended. If you're craving really good Chinese food and you can't wait, this is the best place in our area to get the food fast! A lot of restaurants in the area could learn a lesson. The "Express" in their name is not to be taken lightly! And the food is REALLY GOOD!
