I love the chicken tenders, and the fries are crispy and fluffy. This restaurant should be on the maps

Went there and ordered the pulled pork. It was bland. Notified the owner and he replaced it with some brisket. The brisket was tougher than it should’ve been. Service was slow and the server was not familiar with the menu. Atmosphere was pretty bleak. Overall, I had no choice but to give it 1 star for the quality of the pulled pork and brisket. I paid for my drink and the one side that was decent and left.
I run a private pit so I’m somewhat discerning when it comes to pit BBQ restaurants. Besides running my own pit, I enjoy sampling other pits when I can.

The food is true southern style. I tried the St. Louis slow cooked ribs because if the ribs are good, everything is good. It was the most tender succulent ribs I have ever tasted. And, the Bob's sauce is so tasty I added a lot. Baked beans are good and so is the coleslaw. I can't wait to try other menu items. Make sure you come here hungry as I had to take half of my food home. But, that means good leftovers. Also, I was greeted with such friendliness it made the whole experience that much better. I would definitely recommend Uncle Bob's Smoke Shack any time.

We walked into the restaurant today and didn’t even bother to stay and order! Based on the previous reviews, that was a smart choice!
As soon as we walked in we got greeted by a horrible stench. We walked in a little further and we realized they didn’t have the A/C running on a 97 degree day… no way we were going to stay and eat there! The other clue not to stay is that the restaurant was completely empty and we got greeted by woman sitting at a table from the corner of the restaurant. It was all too weird!
Again, so glad we didn’t waste our money here!

I had high hopes at first I thought it was decent . Not the best but not bad. Until about 1 hour later when I started to vomit uncontrollably and non stop. It crippled me. It’s very unfortunate. The owner was very nice and attentive. But I will not be returning to this establishment.

Brisket tasted like black pepper beef jerky and the Mac and cheese didn’t even pass the eye test...white noodles with a separate cheese sauce around it - I’ll pass. Collard greens were decent.

This tops the list of bad restaurant food for me. Soupy Mac and cheese with questionable cheese sauce. The meat loaf tasted powdery and over seasoned. The sliced brisket was chewy! At a place called smoke shack the beef brisket was chewy! And the AC was broken. I don’t expect this restaurant to survive long.

I saw that Stone Road area had a new restaurant, soul food cafe. I was definitely intrigued for a visit. Yesterday was the day! Upon entering, I saw an open space seating area, very roomy, and clean. Seat yourself so we chose a table in the front area in view of the TV. We were greeted with menus by very nice staff member.
Menu- extensive with BBQ, chicken options, fish, pork chops, sides, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
Food- whiting was fried to a golden perfection, crinkle fries like back in the day, collard greens like you Moma cooked them. Items were prepared to order, hot, tasty, and delicious!!!
Beer glasses were tall for 16ounces, cold and complimented the meal. Nice selections. I had a Yeungling.
Restaurant was organized, clean, spacious
Bathroom was clean, stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. Smelled good!
Staff member was very attentive from start to finish, checking back several times throughout the course of the meal.
It’s a must visit and great food!
Dietary restrictions: I only eat chicken, fish, and turkey so I had the fried whiting.
Parking: This is the strip mall where Dollar Tree, Planet Fitness, Goodwill. Parking lot spaces. No numbers
Kid-friendliness: Open space, booths and high chairs available. Tv for entertainment.
Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk ramp and front entrance can accommodate wheelchair access.

I came here really wanting to love it. I ordered the meatloaf with sides of fries and potato salad. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and my daughter ordered the kids whiting fish. I had understood when ordering, that the kids fish was a few pieces of fried fish, but what showed up was a sandwich. No harm no foul there, the kid didn't mind.
The meatloaf was akin to something you might get in a hospital. Texture was bad and it was swimming in BBQ sauce with a drizzle of ketchup on top. The pulled pork sandwich was pretty on-par with the meatloaf. I don't think it ever saw the inside of a smoker. Smoked pulled pork is difficult to mess up, but this place did it. The fish however, was surprisingly delicious, although maybe a touch salty. The fried okra and french fries are fine, although they are likely a frozen bag-to-fryer situation and nothing rave about. The mac and cheese was only okay.
All things considered, I'd unfortunately say that you should avoid this place. Williards or Mission BBQ are just a few miles away and serve up excellent BBQ.

My husband went to pickup dinner for the family. He waited 40 minutes and the food was bland, dry and did not taste fresh at all. They also charge the same as Willard's and Willard's is phenomenal BBQ. Skip this place and go to Willard's instead. We were very disappointed here.
