We drove out to Upper Shirley for a pleasant fall Sunday afternoon. As always we were completely relaxed by the time we arrived, and the venue was just what the busy person needs to relax and unwind over wine and food. We each sampled one of the vintages and were thoroughly satisfied with them. Our meal was plentiful and delicious. Venue is stunning, Food (especially the Chicken Pot Pie) was excellent. The wines were some of the best I've had in Virginia. We certainly enjoyed the Petit Verdot and the Tannat
Our first visit. Had a great time and meal. However, we were seated on the back porch at a table that had a lot of waste food right under our feet. No attempt made to reseat us or clean it up. Looks to have been the dropped remnants from a child. Nonetheless, it could have been cleaned before we were seated. Else, super time, atmosphere and food. Not too keen on the wine flight. Only 2 out of 4 were to our liking. We will return though.
