Food was good but pricey. Service was not so good and there were only a couple of tables when I was at the restaurant. Not sure if I would go back or not.

Unfortunately, 3 of the 4 ribeyes that we ordered were as tough as nails. Nobody ate more than 1/2 their steak and that was with ketchup.

Quality of food definitely did not match the cost. Very overrated. Server was very attentive though. Old restaurant that needs refreshing.

We had the best prime rib of our lives there! The lamb was great, the escargot was just right, but that prime rib, was an experience!

Our waitress Kathleen was outstanding! She was very welcoming and checked on us often. She was very personable and my wife and I very much enjoyed talking with her. The food was excellent and the ambience was superb! Simply put, a wonderful experience and one of my favorite places to dine.

Family's been coming here for years! Perfect date night ambiance with candles on each table. You can watch someone play the piano near the bar, watch a game or become lost in all the UVA sports memorabilia that adorns the wall. Old and new. Princess cut prime rib top notch

It's always a pleasure to eat at the Aberdeen Barn when we visit Charlottesville. The food is consistently high quality and prepared perfectly. Jimmy, our waiter, has been there for a very long time, and we enjoy his professionalism when we are lucky enough to snag a table in his section. I started this visit with the wedge salad, and my husband had French Onion Soup. Both were perfect - the iceberg lettuce fresh and crisp with the perfect amount of blue cheese dressing. The French onion soup was hot and topped with a good amount of melted cheese. I had the filet mignon for my main course, which was prepared to a perfect medium as ordered; my husband enjoyed the prime rib, also cooked to a requested medium. We both enjoyed loaded baked potatoes. We both had to take leftovers home so that we could enjoy our dessert - a Baklava sundae which was the perfect size for sharing. Great meal with wonderful serving staff with awesome ambience.

First time visiting the restaurant on New Year’s Eve and we will not be returning. I would say we were beyond disappointed with our dining experience.

Between the entrees, sides, and dessert we ordered, the only thing we found enjoyable were the oysters casino.

The New York strip came out very overcooked, paired with some very unseasoned broccoli, and mac and cheese.

The prime rib was mediocre at best, but I have had better at a place like Texas Roadhouse or Outback for a fraction of the price.

After boxing our entrees we did place a to-go order for dessert. Only to arrive home and realize the cheesecake was missing the fruit topping we had ordered. (The cheesecake itself was okay-ish, but we did end up throwing over half of it away.)

Hopefully this was just an off-night, but we will not be returning to find out.

Our waiter was horrible and never was polite the entire time. When he came to give us the bill he just walked by and put it on the table and kept on going with not a thank you! The food was mediocre at best for the price. We won’t be back!

Unfortunately, the food and service missed the mark. The fish was very dry, and the broccoli tasted gritty, almost like it had sand in it. My son was served the wrong steak and had already eaten from it when we noticed. The plate was then given to my dad, which I didn’t feel was acceptable for the cost of the meal. While they did offer a free beer, the overall experience was disappointing.

Had a great time & food at the Barn tonight, but the high light of the night was the above and beyond service we received from Ryan. Good job Ryan, will be back.

I found the hostess to be quite abrasive. Our waiter was superb. The food was very good. The clams casino a must. I adore the ambience. The Christian's decor was beautiful. The restaurant is in a very strange area... seedy by a Econo Lodge and Red Roof Inn. I found that odd. Overall, enjoyable meal with my daughter.

Sad to say that the memories of this place are better than present day. It was such a hurried meal there was no time to “dine.” The food was okay but certainly not what it used to be.

The service was perfect. The atmosphere was nice enough. Perhaps a bit too dark inside. The condition of the restaurant could be a bit better. It's dated, which can certainly be charming in a steakhouse. In this case, it's starting to look a bit run down.

Regarding the food: The crab cakes were fine. A little bready. Average for outside of MD. The fried lobster tail was not worth the price. Bland. I ordered the ribeye. The first one that I received was overcooked (well-done when I ordered medium-rare), but it was seasoned reasonably well. I sent it back to get one that was cooked to the correct temperature. It was cooked perfectly, but was barely seasoned. I ordered the barn potatoes as my side, and those were also barely seasoned.

Honestly, the service saved the whole experience for me.
