Akira level sushi & ramen

On Tuesday my daughter and I got out on the road since we both are from NY and Michigan respective that we can handle driving in the snow. Akira was the only Sushi place opened. Well we found our new go to place. Rolls were so well done, and big! Usually three rolls is perfect, well it was way to much for the two of us. Definitely recommend and we will go again soon!

This is the first time I came to this restaurant for a takeout order. Nice clean place with an attentive staff who showed me a 10% coupon even if I ordered online. When I followed the directions no discount was taken ,so I asked if it came off the total later somehow and the waitress informed me that it was a different system and they don’t have control over it or would fix it. I asked if there was anything they would do to compensate such as a small fountain drink and she said no. I said okay…she did however have me an extra sauce and waived the $1 fee which was ok.
I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi it was $28 with tax and it came with a miso soup and ginger salad. The hibachi contained brocolli, carrots, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and bits of peas. It was drenched in a sticky sauce overflowing into the rice and not seasoned hardly at all. The chicken was chewy and the shrimp was overcooked. I had seen several tables with sushi and sashimi orders so maybe I should have taken the hint that hibachi is not where this restaurant shines. The miso soup was very nice but the ginger dressing was extremely watered down. I don’t agree that the lack of food quality matched the price point at all. Hopefully this honest review can help inform people that the hibachi is not near the quality I expect for the price point.

The food was AMAZING i went on and on about the best sushi i’ve had in a while. I ordered the Eiffel Tower roll and it was perfectly amazing. My family got the hibachi chicken and said it was soooo good. We ordered the Peeking Duck for the table and it was really good as well. The seating was very sparse.

Great service! Emily is very friendly and service is fantastic. There are a variety of special rolls, ramen, and hibachi options. This is my second visit. Fridays get a little busy after 7 with the take out orders and all the booths being taken so plan accordingly.

Had the pork ramen....nowhere as flavorful as that I have had elsewhere!
