Tuesdays are $7 for a movie. Every night they have $4 beers and $5 wines from 4:00 to 7:00.

Good atmosphere. Comfortable seats. Tickets seem to be a bit higher than other theaters. Menu was ok. Food and service was fine.

All-in-all 5 stars. Great atmosphere, solid food, and really great experiences. Not only have I dined and watched movies a bunch but I've also worked here for a while years ago so I know the operations behind the scenes. Kitchen is clean, staff is well trained, and people REALLY care about the mission. That being said, no place is perfect and there are a few things I could complain about. I get movie theater pricing because theaters make next to nothing on ticket costs alone. However, I think some better priced apps and drinks would be great and also you should be able to get free refills on popcorn no matter where you get it from whether it be at your seat or at glass half full. Change some of those rules please because if I'm buying a popcorn for $10 I better be able to eat it no matter where I am on the premises. Also, get your growler license and offer togo cocktails. It's legal now. Otherwise, this is a great place and the events are SO FUN!!!

Hi Alamo Drafthouse,
I really enjoyed watching the Weapons movie today—thank you for continuing to offer a great moviegoing experience.

That said, I do have one concern. If you're going to be strict (and rightfully so) about not allowing talking, texting, or phone use during a movie, I think it's time to also address another major disruption: guests who are actively sick and coughing throughout a film.

We’ve all just lived through a pandemic. It’s not just distracting—it’s inconsiderate and potentially unsafe to be around someone who's visibly ill in a shared, enclosed space. It really affected our ability to enjoy the movie, and I’m sure others felt the same.

I hope you’ll consider adding something to your policies or pre-show messages about this. It’s about respecting everyone’s experience and health.

Thanks again for an otherwise great visit.

I thought the point of this place was to be able to get service to your seat while you watch a movie. Turns out, what the point of this place is to beg for popcorn refills three times, only for the waitress to finally bring it after the movie is over , boxed up, and give it to the stranger next to you. Btw, 45 minutes for a beer is hilarious, you could tell they kept forgetting about it from where the foam died on the beer. We tried to be empathetic thinking maybe the entire kitchen staff had quit, but honestly the service was just hopeless, and when they kept bringing the wrong order to the other person next to me, i just had to laugh, good thing the movie was a comedy. The naked gun , 7:30pm, on aug 8th.

The Alamo is an excellent movie watching experience with good food, reclining chairs, and an all-around great atmosphere!

My first time ever. I know they were having issues but…..
We ordered bottomless popcorn and got one bowl that arrived about the last half hour of the movie we ordered bottomless drinks and didn’t get our refills that we asked for till about the last 20 minutes of the movie I ordered a wrap and got a salad that wasn’t as big a deal I liked it just wasn’t what I ordered we also had a mystery drink come that I thought was water it definitely wasn’t water. Not sure if I’ll be going back. The idea of ordering food and all that while in the movie sounded great but wasn’t impressed.

Cute little theatre

Movie & Bartender, Bruce, were great!!! Food service was embarrassing for them & expensive for us. Theater was basically empty on a chilly Saturday night. I can’t imagine they will stay open much longer. Cinema movies requires something special. Alamo Cinema & Drafthouse, Charlottesville Does Not deliver. Unfortunate!!!

Staff is friendly, quick service even though food was hit or miss for the price- all still about 4 stars. The thing that will keep me from coming back is the awful drinks! $13 for bottom of the bottom shelf 6 oz "cocktail" which they should at least advertise it's bottom shelf and offer you the option for premium. Sooo disappointed with that part of the experience which at first I was expecting to be the highlight. Olive garden has better quality drinks lol
