I was visiting family and I’m from out of town, my relative suggested this restaurant and it was fantastic! I had it for lunch and for breakfast while visiting Charlottesville. I had a shrimp salad bagel for lunch, and I had a breakfast bagel the following day. Both were great! Highly recommend!

The bagels are moist, freshly made , and delicious. They have a variety of schmears and bagels. You can order any protein to make a sanwich.
I happen to order their pastrami with egg and cheese. Absolutely worth every cent.
They allow you to customize any sandwich with different condiments, cheeses, or spreads.
Their are 3 different locations. All of them are in Charlottsville.
You will not regret stopping by.

Be ready to wait in line, it's worth it. Great bagles, as good as NY. Priced just right. Quality sandwiches. Great customer service. Whenever we are in town, this is a stop for sure.

This is my first experience eating bagels from Bodo’s.
I ordered an onion bagel, plain and cinnamon-raisin. I also ordered a lemonade, red potato salad and strawberry cream and vegetable cream cheese.
They did put my onion bagel in a separate bag, which I was glad for.
I tried the lemonade, onion bagel, vegetable cream cheese and the red potato salad.
The lemonade was amazing. I felt it was the perfect amount of sour to sweet ratio. I like my lemonade to have a little more tart to sweet, but not a lot. It was lovely and for that alone I will stop if I am passing by.
I tried the onion bagel and the vegetable cream cheese separately and together.
The bagel was perfect made. It was the right amount of hard/chewy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. The vegetable cream cheese, that wasn’t all that spectacular. It had a good texture, but the taste was a little bland. It still had a good flavor, but could use just a little bit more. Put together, the taste was very good.
The red potato salad was not good for me. I did not like it at all. That’s not to say it is t a good potato salad. It may be made perfectly. I don’t know. All I know is that when I put it in MY mouth, MY mouth said no way! 😂 BUT YOUR mouth may say BRING IT ON! So, please, don’t go based on my review of this potato salad. Of you are a fan of red potato salad, give it a try and make sure you give it a positive review 😁
So, bottom line, LOVED the lemonade, great bagel, acceptable vegetable cream cheese, and not so great potato salad.
I haven’t tried my other two bagels or cream cheese.
On a side note, my tastebud-dead fiancé had a tuna salad on cinnamon raisin bagel and said it was great. Take that part of my review anyway you like. I, however, believe his mother dropped him on his head a few times and knocked a screw or two loose. Or he walked into walls. I don’t k ow, but tuna and cinnamon raisin…maybe it’s a 🚩? If I stop posting reviews…do a wellness check 😉😂

Since '88 they've rolled the dough,
A Charlottesville tradition locals know,
Where students, tourists, and townspeople meet,
At counters warm with bagels sweet.
Fresh New York water bagels, made from scratch,
The morning line grows; quite a catch!
Lines move fast despite the crowd,
The music plays, but not too loud.
Everything bagels, sesame too,
Plain or poppy; each one's true,
Turkey, avocado, swiss cheese bright,
Bacon-egg-and-cheese just right.
Still the king of bagels in the town,
Where morning hunger gets turned around,
From construction workers to families small,
At Bodo's, everyone's welcome one and all.
Cheered me up after terrible haircut across the street. Best in town.

This is the least busy bodo's location, which isn't saying much, but I would fight a man to get my bodo's. Don't sleep on bodo's, because this is some of the best food in Charlottesville and among the best bagels in the country. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Go get your bodo's!!!
