We always make it a point to visit citizen burger bar when we’re down in Charlottesville. Most recently stopped in during a weekend stay. The food and service are always top notch. If you’re looking for some great food and a good cocktail, this is your spot.
We were going to a show across the mall at the Paramont. They were extremely busy. They seated us outside under umbrellas. There was some rain coming down, but we stayed dry. We let the waitress know that we had limited time before the show started. Anna told us she would have us out of there in time. Everything was great. The food was hot. Anna outstanding. The hamburger was a half pound of perfection. The sweet potato fries were made out of whole cut sweet potatoes. The onion...
I am *very* picky about cleanliness so take what I say with a grain of salt. The food is fantastic, best burger I've ever had (and I've had a lot of them), however I found the place to be a bit unhygienic. The bathroom sinks have stuff in them, we got given a plate with a few visible fragments of food, and there was a bartender sneezing all over the bar for a good 10 minutes, and they were covering their mouth with their hand, and even then didn't quite succeed...
